How do you sleep?

Post » Fri Nov 15, 2013 12:55 am

I've come to realize that I sleep pretty [censored] up, and that few others actually do it the same way. My question is: how do you sleep, or rather, what position do you sleep in?

Here's a few common sleeping positions copied from Wikipedia:

http://www.flatseats.com/images/sleep-types.gif if you can't picture things in your head.

I usually sleep in the "freefall" position, with my head preferably turned to my right. I also tend to use the "soldier" when I feel like sleeping on my back. Of course some of you might be hipsters and have invented your own ways of sleeping, and if that's the case then share it with us! The reason I'm making this thread is because I feel like my positions are uncomfortable as hell, and yet all the others I try are just as terrible.

I sleep in any position so long as it's not on my back.

Fetus, sort of. Well it's on my side and by knees are slightly bent, but I guess it still counts as fetus.

Combo of the fetus and the log.

I seem to vary between the foetus and the rather oddly-named yearner; or the "sitting in my computer chair when I should be asleep", given that I'm here and it's gone 3am.

I generally tend to go for the fetus.

I find it interesting that so many use the fetus. It's never been a position I've naturally adjusted myself to, and when I decide to try it (only now recently) I usually give up after a minute or so.

I don't sleep I pass out. Lately, playing Oblivion. I think it's the music, I wake up when the contrller falls out of my hands and starts vibrating violently on the floor ,freaking out my animals because I'm being hit or bit by something.

I don't, at least not often. Like every other day. When I do though I go through all those positions except log and star fish

Hard to categorize as it's a combo of fetus, yearner and freefaller: I sleep on my side with 1 hand under my pillow, the other stretched out, 1 leg in a sort of fetal position and the other straight with my hip half turned ....it's sounds very messed up and uncomfortable ha but it's 1 of the only positions I can lay without old wounds acting up.
:lmao:
I've done that so many times with a TES game, usually during the tedious task of organizing my loot...the remote doesn't hit the floor though as I usually have the sleep jump within moments.

All I can say is I usually start out with the Soldier. I do not always wake the same way. I have no clue what goes in between :)

Alternate between Yearner and Fetus. Typically Fetus in the colder seasons.

I throw myself from side to side for an hour before falling to sleep, but freefall, but to the side, is usually what I start with. So a combo of freefall and yearner I suppose.

I have a degenerative disk in my back, so I can't sleep on beds anymore. Instead, I sleep on the sofa, with my back against the sofa back, which means I'm on my side. I'll swap between putting my hands under my pillow or my arms down my side, but that's about it.

Something of a mix of Soldier but I also put my hands on my chest when I sleep. I very seldom if ever sleep on my side or front.
