How do you steady your sniper shots?

Is there a specific skill that you have to get up to stop your reticule swaying as much when sniping?
It's annoying me at long ranges.

I think Guns reduces it. Going into Sneak mode and not moving make a significant difference, as well.

Besides getting your Gun Skill up?

As the game says, Crouch (Sneak) and Zoom and that steadies your shot. Also, there is a Chem called Steady that helps.

Other than that, get your Gun Skill up.

I do go into sneak mode and have about 55 guns.
Are you sure?

Be in sneak mode. Have a good amount of Guns skill and enough strength for the weapon.

Strength. All guns have a strength requirement. Strength is necessary to keep the rifle steady. IIRC you need 6 for the regular sniper and 8 for the AM.

You can use Steady (the chem) and it makes every shot dead accurate with no scope sway.

Not sure how it affects aim in VATS; it's pretty much just for real-time since if you use VATS you don't even have to scope.

Strength Requirement! I've got 10 strength
Gun Skill! I have 100 Guns
Crouch! I do crouch when sniping.
Learn To Shoot! I can shoot very well.

And there is still a ridiculous amount of weapon sway, even if you're a complete sniper master (such as myself).

Strength requirement, high guns skill, and patience you gotta wait and time the shot perfectly. I can kill Deathclaws with my sniper rifle in 2 to 4 hits without using Vats unless they're 10 feet away then I aim for their head in Vats. It helps that I have 9 luck for all those lifesaving critical hits :celebration:

I already did. I can snipe just fine in New Vegas, I'm just pointing out that he's right. With 100 guns, 10 strength, and crouching, there should be almost NO sway at all, while in truth there is a lot of sway.
