Better than Morrowind, which moved Ebonheart from mainland Morrowind to Vvardenfell without reason or explanation and which magically introduced an entire new island that no one had ever heard of before and which conflicted with the existing maps of Tamriel.

I think Skyrim actually did a fantastic job of growing the new lore out of the old lore. The biggest source we had was the First Edition Pocket Guide, and virtually everything it mentions is in the game. Thu'um became Dragonshouts, King Olaf and the Bard's College, High Hrothgar, the Throat of the World, and all that stuff.

The Lore the game set up did it's job. Back dressing. Pre-history.

I don't think there are really any issues as far as staying true to lore goes. All the Dragonborn/Dragon lore that came with Skyrim if nothing else, alters the perception with how we viewed some things previously such as the descendants of Tiber, Reman and the Blades etc. At least, for me anyway.

The fans of the Volkihar from "Immortal Blood" and werebears would like to have a word with you. ;)

I don't quite understand the Volkihar controversy. It seems like we knew little about the Volkihar to begin with.

Apparently they could phase into ice and grab you through it.
Pick up Immortal Blood sometime.

I don't think the exclusion of Werebears was a lore decision as opposed to a gameplay one. Anyway, the lore for the most part is that they are rather elusive. So..

As for the Volkihar, I've not seen anything to convince me that Harkon's brood are the Volkihar in lore, beyond they inhabit a castle with said name. As Madcat124 pointed out though, we knew very little about them and what we knew could easily be chalked up to the myth/distorted truth factor.

I agree, just having a little bit of fun. I don't believe that Harkon is Volkihar either. Way too many inconsistencies with what we were told before hand to make me think that's the case.

Good point. Did people complain back then?

Also just think about how much Daggerfall butchered the lore established by Arena. Tsk tsk, removed the medusas and fire daemons.
