I have been playing around with trying to get an NPC to use the BoethiahPillarFurniture01, which I have done in the past and had no problems until recently when my NPC would not use it the 2nd time I entered the cell. But that's not my problem, when I tried reconecting a linked ref from a new NPC I could not select it in the render window, and then I found out why the Boundy box for this somehow has become HUGE (like bigger than a large roombound).
I thought I may have something wrong in the mod but if I just load up the Skyrim.esm on it's own and place the pillar in a warehouse cell the same thing happens.
Is there a way to fix this? Everything else seems to have the right bounding box.
Seeing how I have a bit of time with a re-install of everything, I had a think about how this could have happened. The way oversize bounding box for the pillar looks suspiciously similar to a render room bound I created in the dungeon. Checked with the BoethiahPillar on it's own and you can re-scale using the scaling gizmo (and the objects size scales with the bounding box like it should), and you can't re-size, nothing wrong there.
I'm just wondering if this object was selected (maybe accidental Ctrl press) when I selected the render room bound re-sizing gizmo and it let me re-size both of them.
Weirdly, this object is not used in any vanilla cells
(is it a DawnGuard Object?? ... I don't have Dawnguard) ... though I do see it as an Object in my copy of the CK.
When I drop the object into a cell, I do not see a bounding-box at all ... and my CK goes a little bit weird (almost as though the object spans multiple cells!!!???).
If you right-click the object (in the Object list) and do Use-Info it does not report that it has any users at all. So it has not been dropped into a cell in the normal way, nor is it used as a directly-assigned alias, or whatever.
So, first thing I'll do is check that quest you mention to see if/how the object is used ... then I'll look at the scaling of it ...
I THINK (I am not very familiar with this quest, DA02), that:
The object you are looking for is: DA02Pillar
At least, that is the object Beth placed in the DA02BoethiahShrine2 cell (NOTE THE 2 ... there is also a DA02BoethiahShrine cell ... I don't know which one is used, for certain ... maybe both are ... but usually a 2 means something got broken in the cell without a number!)
Anyway, check that out and see if it is any better ...

Sorry I can't be more help ...
You don't see the bounding box, because it IS really very, very huge. (DA02Pillar) Just tried it out, I can confirm it. Weird thing...
So TWO weird objects - that are MASSIVE (do they span more than one cell when placed?) - that look the same (DAPillar02 and BoethiahPillarFurniture01), but are named differently, and - one of them, at least - is used in a cell that has also been duplicated and renamed ...
Hmmmmm; I think I would leave those objects well alone ...
Hmmmmm me thinks you are right, this won't be in my mod for much longer and to think last night I thought It's not that important and I was going to dump it. Should have listened to myself and just got rid of it then.
