A Husband's Love

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 4:14 pm

Ok, I just had to share this. It really surprised me!

So, I build a Heljarchen Manor in the Pale and then I moved on to build Windstad Manor. At that time, my husband Vorstag was still living in Hjerim in Windhelm.

Once I finished decorating Heljarchen, I went out to Dawnstar to adopt Alesan. I spent some time playing with him. I was away from Hjerim for a few days at that time.
I told Alesan that it was time for bed and I went to sleep as well. At the moment I lay down, I suddenly saw Vorstag lay down as well!

My husband had moved to Heljarchen on his own accord! :D I was thinking, when I get up, I will travel to Windhelm and tell my hubby to pack up - we are moving!
But then he was suddenly there! I was like... woah... mind blown! LOL

Now, I wish that my kids would also interact with their dad. Has anyone heard their kids call your spouse Mom or Dad?

Interesting... I guess your spouse relocates automatically when you change your official family home.

Also, I think I've heard that kids refer to your spouse when they talk to you, and I know they talk to each other. Not sure if child/spouse conversation occurs.

Cool, I guess I need to spent more time with kids. I adopted 2 kids on my assassin, after I build the first house, but thought that was weird and so reloaded a previous safe. Then my married nord warrior build a house, but I wasn't satisfied with the layout and loaded an earlier safe. I've build 2 houses on my other assassin, but she will also have no children.

So, I have Alesan now and I'm happy with my house. Tonight I will get Sophie and then we'll see how Brigid and Vorstag Keltinga will fair :D

I've got Farkas set to "relax here awhile" through the follower mod so sadly I miss out on internesting dialog. But at least he won't get kidnapped and vanish to the void.

Good move with Farkas as hes not the sharpest knife in the box, in fact i often wonder how he manages to negotiate the stairs on his own, too many blows to the head maybe.

With most spouses you get the dialog option to ask them how the kids are, but there are a few, Vorstag is one, that never got that dialog recorded. Much to my dismay, as he is my current character's spouse. My previous character married Marcurio, and does have the option.
It's a shame, to the spouses with no dialog for it, it's like the kids don't exist. The children will refer to Pa or Ma though. Sophie tells me that Pa said he would take her fishing, and that with her help he should be able to catch one! lol

And yes, if you move one member of the family, they all go. Handy.

That it would, if you lived in Lakeview or Winstad. Wouldn't be too fun at Hejarchen. lol
Now sledding or skiing, on the other hand would be cool too, and work great at Heljarchen. Hmm, summer and winter houses.

At least the kids acknowledge both parents. You would have thought they would have the voice actors of all the eligible spouse/parents do the lines, just in case. Or get them to do a few lines after the fact.

So far, I've never heard child and spouse converse in any way. That would be really cool!

Oh well.Nothing's perfect and all things considered I'm very happy with HF.I always wanted to build my own house and even though my input is minimal as far as the design(all the houses look alike) I'm loving it.

The only think Vorstag acknowledges, besides me, is the dog... Stupid Dog! LOL Poor Meeko, everyone is calling him "Stupid Dog", even Alesan who wanted to keep him. And who has to feed and walk the dog? Me, that's right. :D

did he never here the exsperssion " we need to spend some time alone" :swear:

we need divorce!

oww i can just imagine it , it will be like when your getting wed you scream "WAIIIIT!! Stop THIS WEDDING !!"

and then the other one goes " *gasp* you b**** i hate you" and runs off and everybody else is grumbling embarrassingly

often thought it was all too much like katy perrys "hot and cold" opening scene - except without the wedding dress

also about wedding guests ? at my last wedding i found my daughter stone dead at the altar with my husband looking down going "ow , what a shame" in his sarcastic snarl , andi n the front row i had two forsworn look like my witnesses , after the ceremony he looked round at me - husband i mean - and said " ow wait , you have kids, dont you?!?" and thinking , "no , for some reason lucia is dead on the floor and nobody seems particularly concerned "

also i felt bad afterwards at home , husband settles down to his domestic duties as my slave , i felt like such a controlling dominant diva demanding he cooked me food at 2 am in the morning , fush do rah him off the bed and occasionally just punching him in the face . because i can .

marriage is comedy in skyrim , it is hilarious .

That's what Aura Whisper is for. Lacking the ability tp bellow, "Lucia, get over here or I'll tan your hide!", Aura Whisper is my backup remedy of choice.

Things got wild at my wedding. First, Valdimar bolted out the door and promptly vanished. Couldn't find him whatever I did. Reloaded. Grabbed Valdimar in time, and we left together, but then LUCIA went AWOL. I ran screaming around Riften until a guard told me to stop that shouting, it was making people nervous. I really wanted a dialogue option for "My daughter's gone! You're a guard, go find her before I REALLY start shouting!" About a minute later, Lucia and the Idgrods came around the corner. I guess they were sightseeing or something, but sheesh. Way to scare her poor papa on his wedding day!

This really got complicated later. I told them to move to Riften, but they both beelined out the gate. I grabbed Valdimar and told him we were moving to Whiterun. Then, the next day, Lucia vanished entirely. Meeko ran to the door, barking his fool head off, and then HE vanished. Valdimar stopped telling me how much Lucia loved Whiterun and acted as though she'd never existed. Desolate, I moved back to Windstad Manor. Valdimar took his sweet time showing up, so I thought I'd lost him too. Then, one day as I was mining an iron vein, I heard an echoing "chip...chip...chip..." and sure enough, there he was, mining the clay quarry as though he'd never left. A day or two later, I walked into Windstad and heard "PAPA!" I had to put down the controller, something in my eye all of a sudden. Lucia must have been hanging out in Riften, since the game *thought* both spouse and child were there, but Valdimar's steward programming overrode the Riften command, so he walked to Windstad instead. Or something. Frankly, I'm afraid to ask them to move again.

Why do you think I build three homes and bought all the houses in Skyrim? The family is living in Lakeview Manor, while I split my time between Lakeview and all my other retreats! :D

My 2 Assassins won't ever get married, nor have kids! hahahaha They don't have the caring nature or motherly love needed to bring up kids. Hmm, raising and training the 2nd generation of kids. I wish one of them could adopt the Aventus Aretino boy hahahaha
