An idea for a character...

Hey guys, I have come up with an idea for a new character I want to create in Oblivion and was looking for your guys feedback.

Here it is:

Basically it would be a wood elf hunter who would hunt dear, rats, mud crabs, ect. and sell their hides and meat at shops in cities. At first he would only sleep at inns at night but once he got enough money (from hunting) he would buy his own house. He would use his spare money to buy new cloths, food and drink, furnishing for his house, ect. Basically this character is more for role play than getting stuff done in game. Let me know what you think and give me any feed back on how I could make this character better!

If he′s a hunter maybe he should use a simple tent mod, provided you are on PC of course. I think that would suit him quite well.

I've actually done several characters similar to this over the years. Characters who live out in the wild are some of my favorite characters to play in all these games. A few of my characters never go inside cities at all. They spend their entire games hunting, trapping, mining, ect. They invent their own adventures as they go. I love these free-form games. I usually enjoy them much more than merely following orders given by quests and written by devs.

Hmm, so no mods then.

Well, if he won′t mind having to evict some bandits every now and then, maybe he can use Isolated House as his hunting cabin? Great opportunities for hunting in the surrounding area :)

That sounds like a good idea! Where would one of those be though?

You don′t know where Isolated House is? It′s south-east from Skingrad, roughly around the area where it says The West Weald on the map, around where the W in West is. Or at least it′s in that neighbourhood, you may have to look around as it′s not marked.

There′s also of course Shetcombe Farm near Kvatch.

Your character could use these houses as bases for when he′s hunting in different areas. Be careful however to store anything in containers your character does not own in-game.

Is he gonna use much magicks?

The house is just a little north of the space between West Weald on the map. It's at the head of a deep valley. An Oblivion gate can land on the house and burn it down, but it will not hurt your character if they are inside at the time. When you go back outside the house is a burning ruin and you are in the middle of an Oblivion gate surrounded by daedra. That's really exciting. The house should be ok if you're not doing the main quest - other than the two bandits that live there.
