Idea for new shotgun ammo

Post » Sun Dec 05, 2010 8:03 pm

As it stands now we have 5 different types of ammo for the 12 ga. Standard, Slug, Magnum, Bean Bag, and Coin shot. There are two more rounds that I would like to see make it into the game. The first being the rubber ball shot, that police use in riot situations. This shot would do a little more damage than 0.05% of a bean bag, and add more fatigue than the +250 also of the bean bag. For the survivalists I'd like to have the ability to craft Rock Salt shells, of course use of rock salt shells in real life would be useless, but in movies and fiction rock salt has been used quite often and is shown to heavily damage a target. The rock salt should do light damage, but temporarily reduces health slowly over time, just not to the point of killing an NPC. It could also have a high amount of fatigue to the NPC's, and maybe a knock down effect. A rock salt shell should be more effective on human NPC's. Adding rock salt shells would require adding rock salt as an item, so it would have to be added to a DLC or the next Fallout title, it would be a fun and novel way to take down or soften up an opponent.

What do you guys think?

Has anybody actually knocked somebody out with the bean bag? Good idea's, but i think a taser shell would be good. Ive seen police use them, they shoot out a small barb that stuns victims.

There are way more important matters that need to be addressed.

Wouldn't it be cool to bring back the railway spikes from FO3, and have them used as improvised flechette rounds? Shotguns are in desperate need of some sort of armor piercing rounds.

I'd say phosphorus rounds. The reason why I say that is because we only have one type of incendiary ammo, and that's for the anti-materiel rifle.

I dont see the need for those types of ammos. The rubber balls would be similar and useless. Rock salt is just useless in general.

The Bean Bag is useless, and it was put in the game. So a rubber bullet could be added, with slightly more damage, and maybe bonus limb damage. The rock salt doesn't have to be useless at all. Like I said it could have light damage, with high fatigue, a knock down effect, and also decreases health a little bit for a few seconds. Would it be an effective round to go around blasting people with all the time? No. The rock salt shot should also have medium to high wear on a shotgun's condition. It's just a novel idea for a new type of ammo. Do I expect it to make it in a DLC or any future Fallout titles? No. It's just a suggestion that I think it would add a little more fun and variety to the shotgun weapons.

I'd like phosphorous rounds as well. Rock salt rounds would be awesome to make; go to a salt mine, get some bags of salt, then go to town.

I think explosive rounds would be awesome, if it could work. But I'd rather a unique Anit-Material Rifle, and in the next DLC, new types of weapons would be better.

I'd like an AA12 with explosive rounds. But to be fair, we sorta have that already, with the grenade machinegun. Explosive bullets would be nice, rubber bullets wouldn't (bean bag does same thing), and rock salt definitely wouldn't, unless you decide you wanna go killing some ghosts. I'm gonna say, no.

In RepCon HQ the tour bot shows differnt colors of plasma, do you guys think that over charge or difernt versions of the ECELLs, MFCELLs, EC PACKs should ove had different colors. I hope me get more attachments for the guns already in game like a red dot or a big fat silencer on the gauss rifle and makes it sound alittle different.

There's no FRAG-12 rounds, but it's still a good mod.

If that is Antistar's AA-12 (http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=39651 mod's Modern Weapons addon) then there are http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/images/39651-1-1297584110.jpg rounds too, you just have to craft them yourself.
