Debating between calling them the "Pure" and the "Primorals."

Basic concept idea is a race of supernatural humanoids, ranging in size, weight and appearance will share multiple central "lives" through reincarnation and immortality. What this means is that when one Pure/Primoral dies, one that is currently dead (in a state of Purgatory or such) will take the place of the one who just died, and the one who just died will be set into "waiting." There will be only a small number of these Pure/Primorals, such as 20 at the most, and at least one has to be alive at all times because it is actually the act of a Pure/Primal being alive that fuels the reincarnation, meaning if all were to die at once then the entire race would be completely extinct with no reincarnation.

When a reincarnation happens the now living Pure/Primoral will have no memory of the life they took over and will take over the body that has expired, shaping it to fit the physical appearance of the reincarnating being. If the body were to be destroyed however no reincarnation will take place. If/when a dead Pure/Primoral is revived then they will retain all memory they had prior to their death, i.e. if A died and then was reincarnated, A would remember everything that happened to them.

The Pure/Primoral, un/fortunately draw their ability to reincarnate from the beings and life around them. Their bodies naturally leech energy from anything alive and cannot be stopped, however the extent it draws can be controlled. Pure/Primorals can speed or slow their leeching to affect many of their physical and biological needs such as aging (faster leeching means slower aging), regeneration (leech more to heal more), endurance (leech more to store more stamina, durability, strength, etc), however at all times they are leeching from others which effectively makes those around them sick, weak and have the potential for death (all determined by how much the Pure/Primoral wishes to leech).

Along with this life force leeching the Pure/Primoral is also drawing in knowledge, attributes, etc of those around them. As it is set to be an RPG race, things like leaching magic knowledge or ability is possible, as well as skills in fighting, etc, etc.

Despite these benefits a Pure/Primoral can physically die as easily as any normal human and have average human attributes unless they speed up their leeching process in which case they can extend themselves into supernatural levels.

Thoughts?

You can go beyond simple names like Pure and Primoral branching into various other languages combining those terms. Bleach is a great example of this during the Arancarr arch where they expand upon Hueco Mundo dealing with several spanish names.

You could go into Latin where Primeval is loosely translated at Primaevo and Primeval being translates as Primaevo esse. Course when you start mixing, matching, and combining names it can be a bit tricky.
