This would make the whole ''Which item to use for which class'' irrelevant, it would simply not be worth it!
For instance if you as a new player get *rusty sword - 20dmg* and battle an old timer with *legendary shishkebab - 30dmg*, this would not instantly mean the newbie has lost, he would stand a chance but still have to overcome the fact that the other guy does more dmg mathematically.
This also would mean that skills would be highly rewarded and the player would have better options for costumization.
What do you guys think? Would this do?
