So the Elder Scrolls series really inspired me to suggest to Bethesda a new kind of combat system, since the old one has been in use for many years now in RPGs, being pretty much just standing in front of the enemy and pressing the attack button. This system would be a system of cause and effect if you will. For example, in character creation, there would be certain attributes like strength, speed, agility, stamina, and so forth, that would work towards a certain style of fighting. Lets say a character with 100 strength and 0 everything else, will be stockier, do more melee damage, and block more effectively with a shield, but also be slow, stiff, and maybe too bulky to move fast enough to dodge blows. And visa versa. A character with mostly speed and agility and nothing else with be able to dodge, roll, jump, and maneuver his way out of danger easily, but if he gets hit with an axe, he's toast. In other words, the attributes chosen by the gamer to add on his character have everything to do with the way that character will fight and move. These attributes would drastically affect gameplay. The strong character would be able to pull back a bow farther, throw spears and knives further and with more speed/momentum, therefore doing more damage the closer the range in which the target is hit. And when it would come to combos or finishing moves, there would be loads of them but your characters attributes would determine which ones you can do, wether its choke slamming someone or doing a summersault over them and chopping their head off.
