You should realize that higher sore doesn't necessary mean better game. They can review Tetris and give it 10/10 , but it wouldn't be better game than Skyrim for example.
Zelda isn't direct Skyrim's competitor Witcher 2 , Deus Ex HR , Dark Souls etc. is. There is no competition for Zelda on Wii.
If we compare game to game Zelda and Skyrim , Zelda would stand no chance , i believe everyone would agree on that.

Are you seriously butthurt that Zelda scored better than Skyrim?

Both are woks of art. Zelda was probably better polished and perfect for what it does.

Skyrim has a metascore as 9.6. Either some people think the game is good or bethesda left no stone unturned for bribery.

I'm a hardcoe zelda fan but honestly they haven't had a good title since..well, that's debatable but I'd have to say the last handheld title that didn't svck was link's awakening (i know everybody like oracles, idk why) and the last console title that was widely loved was majora's mask (and windwaker was pretty decent too but that really marked their decent into 'kid games')

My chief complaint is that zelda games are just marketed for children now, which is why I look so forward to things like skyrim. I'm sick of linear crap that can't stand up to it's hype from 11 years ago (freaking zelda franchise)

I completely disagree, with everything you said.

I can't remember a zelda game that wasn't brilliant. And Skyward Sword just looks amazing.

Um why does it matter? Ratings (especially for widely acknowledged 'good' games) are very subjective. Just because a gaming website scored one game .5 points higher than Zelda doesn't mean Skyrim can't be amazing, or even your personal 'best game ever'. Go enjoy the game and stop worrying about every game that comes out scoring higher than this one. I promise that Skyrim will not be offended by these reviews. It will be offended, however, if you question its playability solely because of the interwebz ;)

I'll take the "review" of these boards over any random magazine. Most of those people aren't even fans or haven't played earlier TES,

Zelda isn't an RPG. It is an adventure game.

Anyway, I don't know much about more modern zelda games but I assume it is bug free and the NPCs don't move around so there is no way to see bad animations. It probably got points for the novelty of the Wii-mote actually working on a AAA title and because of nostalgia.

I wouldn't put too much thought into it

They obviously review it differently. A 10 in graphics shows that, while it looks like it has some good art, its by no means perfect and the textures are far from. Especially when BF3 doesn't even get 10.

I'm sorry we don't agree and I have to say again, I'm a zelda die-hard but this is a skyrim forum and I think it's freaking rekonkulus a game my five year old nephew could beat in a day ranks higher than skyrim.
FTR, I don't personally care which games get higher ratings, but it's meant to be fun, right? Pitting them against each other? The same reason we have music and movie awards?

It's still up by 1 on Metacritic. We'll have to see how all the pieces fall

I would be willing to bet the majority would rather play a Zelda game than Skyrim. Your opinion does not represent the majority, which is what IGN is trying to rate games toward.

Also, rekonkulous is not a word.
