Hello,
I have the illusion madter quest from the college to get the books, except the books are not where theu should be. They appear to be missing and the quest gives no quest markers (intentional?). I have read that this could be caused by having Arniels quest active at the same time.
Is this true? Does anyone know of a fix?

Do you know where they're suppose to be and they're not there, or are you just having trouble finding them?

There's one underneath the bench near the stairwell on the second floor of the Hall of Attainment; one on top of a barrel in the Hall of Countenance; one on top of a table in the Arcaneum, and one down in the midden... I forget exactly where but it's surprisingly easy to find.

What happened to me one time with this quest is that I got all four books but upon returning to Doralen I only had two. So I went back to get them but they weren't there. What I did was go back to a save I had right before I interacted with him to get the quest and did the whole thing all over again. Then it worked. It's a PITA, but it might be the only solution.

Thanks for the reply. I looked up where they were but but still could not see them. Unfortunately i didnd keep a save of the moment in question. I'll have one more hard look around the college.

It's probably a lame question but... Do you have the spell cast when you're looking for them? The first time I did the quest I spaced out and didn't cast it so of course I couldn't see the books.

Ashamed to admit it but you just nailed it. Damn I feel dumb now. Thanks lol!
