Imperial Armour - Does it get better?

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 4:58 am

Hey guys,

Just got some imperial heavy armour after joining the legion, does it change at all? Or do I always have what I get given at the start? Any pics to what the advanced ones look like if there are any?

I don't think it does. I finished the Imperial quest line with one of my characters and I think all I got was a daedric weapon, which probably scales to your level. I thought I would get some sweet gold armor with a cape. :(

Funnily the only way to get the gold armour that General Tulius wears, is to join the Stormcloaks so you can kill the dude.

Items are static in the world of Skyrim. One Iron Mace is the same as every other Iron Mace. Your damage with weapons scales off of your skill value. You can improve your weapons with Smithing, which again, works off of your skill value. Enchanting improves again, your skill value. So unless you take the two most broken skills in the game, no your armor is going to stay exactly the same. If you want the best armor, Daedric. Nothing else matters.

Good day.

Yeah, it's kind of irritating that while the Stormcloaks can get Stormcloak Officer armor, an Imperial can never get the legate or general armor. On a related note, why can you not forge Imperial swords, bows, and light armor?

No it doesn't improve BUT there is a unique varient of the Imperial Helmet in one of the dungeons below Sollitude, it's worth getting if you're planning on roleplaying a Legate.

If you plan on staying with the empire, you have to wear the imperial armor, no matter how ugly it is. If you don't you will be considered a stormcloak spy and killed on site.

Can you improve this armor with smithing to a decent rating or capping?

Well you can only improve the heavy legion armor and the light, but not the medium version.

I've since started a new game and I'm currently doing the legion quests.

I picked the Heavy armor which has a steller chest piece. But I suggest trying to find the officer legion helmet, it looks bad ass with the rest of the armor. Yes you rcan improve the armor just like evrything else.

I'm considering staying with this armor for a while and pretend I'm some big shot legion general...
