Improving Superior Leather Armor?

Post » Mon Sep 24, 2012 12:15 am

Hi everyone.

So my Smithing is at 40, and I have Leather Armor that I improved to Superior. I want to improve it again, but I don't have the option to. It's grayed out. I only have the Steel Perk in the Smithing tree. (There's no perk that mentions Leather or Fur...)

When do I get to improve the Leather armor again? Is it at a higher level of Smithing? Or is there a Perk that I need? This is assuming that I can improve it at all.

Thanks in advance.

Hmm. It seems that armors without Perks (such as Leather) can only be tempered once. Fair enough. svcks, but okay.

How do I get Perked armors (Elven, Glass, etc.) to Legendary level?

It will go to Exquisite at level 65! This is one of my biggest gripes with Smithing :stare: . Iron and Leather don't upgrade as everything else, it's a real pain. If you're on Xbox or PS3 you're stuck with it but on PC there is the Legendary Smithing mod which corrects this anomaly  !!

Yikes! Well, only 25 levels away I suppose...:(

I figured out the rest of the levels, with their increments of 20. svcks though because this is for my Hunter/Archer, who I didn't want to use anything other than Leather and Fur. I just don't see him in Elven or Glass, and Scaled and Studded just doesn't fit the look I like.

And yeah, Xbox 360.
