Increasing destruction damage

Post » Sat Jan 12, 2013 9:23 am

So I'm making a vampire mage and just want to get a feel for all the ways I could increase destruction damage. I know;

Alchemy, destruction perks, certain equipment in dragonborn dlc.

What I'm less sure about are other things, like I believe there is a glitched illusion perk that increases fire damage. And I also heard that taking the necromage perk increases destruction damage.

So if anyone can give me other tips for increasing destruction, or confirming the above, that would be appreciated.

By the way I'm an Xbox user so no mods here, but feel free to add in dawnguard or dragonborn content. If you do though make sure to add spoiler tags, because I put this in the vanilla general discussion.

Spoiler
Well there are 3 new masks in the Dragonborn DLC that increase damage by 25% for either Fire, Frost, or Shock spells

I assume the damage will increase since you plan on becoming a Necromage Vampire.

The glitched Illusion perk is Aspect of Fear. All fire spells have a fear element that gets activated if you have the Intense Flames perk. But that technically makes them fear spells so Aspect of Terror works on them and increases their magnitude by 10 points. This has a much bigger effect on the weak spells. For example Flames will do more than double damage with it (125% more to be exact), but Fireball is improved by only 25%.
