Interesting ArticleBlog and a Question:

We all know that Matt Firor is the main guy in charge of the development of this game, and if you'd like a little info about his past as a game developer, you might enjoy this blog post:

In the blog post, Matt Firor says:

Brian Axelson, the 21 year old whiz-kid programmer/designer who had been working for us since he was 16 – responsible for inventing, implementing, and designing Camelot’s combat system, including Combat Styles...

I'm curious if anyone knows what became of Brian Axelson - I cannot stress enough how ahead of his time he was. The combat mechanics in DAOC which depended on you being in certain positions with regard to your enemy, or reacting to a situation, or executing a chain of attacks was far more complex and interesting than anything that I've played since. When I read this blog a couple years ago, I hoped that Matt Firor had recruited Brian Axelson to work with him on his current project, but since then I'd forgotten. Going through my old links I ran across this blog and I once again wondered at how talented Axelson must be to do such incredible programming at such a young age.

So the question is: Anyone know if he is working for ZOS?

I searched him up, found this : http://www.mobygames.com/developer/sheet/view/developerId,83291/.
Seems like the last game he was working on was DAoC : Catacombs.

Yeah, that was in 2004, and Mythic did more stuff since then, which makes me think he left. I was hoping he left cause Firor pulled him over to ZOS, but maybe he just wanted to do something different like raise chickens and enjoy life while he contemplated his next stroke of genius?
