It may just be my untrained and non-artistic eye, but I wouldn't say the graphics look "worse" in the post-patch version. The only difference I can really see there is that the coloring is slightly different, though that could very likely be due to the fact that the post-patch video was made at a completely different time of day. Skyrim uses some pretty dynamic lighting adjustments based on weather conditions and time of day, so this isn't a very good video for comparing anything but that.

it's not that big of a deal people!!! yes now I see that they downscaled the graphics but its not really that much of a deal because at least we can play this game now.

Jeeez, they totally included low resolution textures in the patch....

By looking at shadows i think that those videos have been made in different time of day in different lighting and weather conditions.

Textures look more flat in very bright lighting.

Watched the video, no major difference. The videos are shot at different times of day, this is the color change.

I thought I saw some difference for a minute, until I realized the videos were moving at different walk speeds... so that makes the rendering different anyhow.

Those 2 things aside, no difference that I see.

I'm sorry, I really don't see the problem here.

If it's the slightly smokier look, the weather does change from day to day.

No they didn't. The patch was not even remotely big enough to replace existing textures throughout the game. It's conceivable they may have included something that adjusts render distance or something like that, but they most definitely did not include a full textures overhaul.

lol v1.01 has a lot more sharpness added better filtering

it has nothing to do with the time of the day!

i play on PC and i can make the game look dramatically different by adjusting filters and sharpness and blur

so i can see the difference with my artistic eye.

but its all in the eye of the beholder!

beleive what u will!

I think this comparison is false.. For me it looks like the version 1.01 as it says it is in fact the 360 version of the game which doesnt have the FXAA enabled and theresome has more sharpy visuals....
Whatever.... i lost faith in Bethesda. I was going to order the game today but i thought for a minute and im gonna just play my Shadow of the Collousus Hd version first and them i buy this on Christmas when the price is lowered. This game is just a crappy port from 360.

Hey kit81, how far in are you on this new play through? Any lag yet? I'm so close to just starting from scratch.

I think it still looks pretty good. Small price to pay if it creates less lag

I just want to play the game, minor details like that won't affect my enjoyment

Hey man but the graphic was not changed with the update. Its the same graphic as before. Read the official news from bethesda and not the mass paralysis in the forums. Some people are crazy :)

I want gameplay times and time of day on a clean start, then I will accept this. Also there is no difference I can see in the graphics, just the lighting. It is all in your head. A placebo affect. You want something to look wrong so it does.

This Video comparison is inconclusive. No info about how you filmed it. As far as I know PS3 can Not make in game video to upload to youtube. No evidance that this IS PS3 version at all. My OPINION is that this is a misleading video from PC version in wich graghics options were turned down to show differances. In wich case I'm lead to beleive that it is intended to be militious and false. If filmed from a video camera then again, inconclusive cause there is no info about what, type, model, or grade of camera used to make film.

My conclusion is that this video is NOT of PS3 version, and intended to mislead people to think it is.
