Interior lighting help

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 12:26 am

1 - OK, I'm working on my room and the strangest thing is happening. When it gets dark outside, it gets dark inside, and I can't figure out why. I want it to be the same lighting inside all the time, not get lighter and darker with the daily cycle of the sum. And no, I don't have it flagged to act as an exterior cell. I'm basically giving a makeover to the Goodsprings Schoolhouse interior.

2 - When I make an adjustment to a light in the geck, say I move the light bulb around closer to the floor or something, it makes the light go out making it impossible to tell what the adjustment did that I made. This is most annoying. Another example would be if I use the find function and replace a light with another like from office ambient to a basemant ambient, it also goes out on me as well. It's just like poof, it goes out.

Any suggestions, and thanks for the help!

OK, I figured out #1 so disregard that one (silly rookie wanna-be modders... :whistling: ), but still need help on #2.

I'm not really sure what you are saying in #2. Be sure you have Light Markers and Light Radius checked on your View Menu.

When I move lights around, they aren't disappearing on me.

He means he can't see the effects of the lights on the room. I.e the render isn't rendering the light's effects on the interior.

I'm having the same problem. Can't figure out why it isn't updating.

*sigh* Wonderful. The geck won't re-render the lighting effects until it is restarted.

I hope some one knows a solution other wise any house mods are going to svck.

Alright a workaround kind off.....

After you make a lighting change, make sure snap is off, select all objects, move them slightly. The undo(Ctrl-Z) And the lighting will have updated after you moved all the assets slightly.
