Inventory Issue D:

Post » Tue Jan 01, 2013 6:23 pm

When ur inventory is full or going it could be a pain in the ass. in PvE u encounter someone stoning at a item and everyone has to wait for him cus he is making one of the most difficult chocie in rpg game "which item to throw".
in TES series u always have to went back to ur Multi-purpose chest to throw all ur stuff into it. the worst is in the starting of a game u dun not own a house cus of gold issue u can't dispose all ur good stuff and u went to explore with only a feel space to pick up items :(

Another issue would be the UI for inventory. WE haven seen the UI video for TESO so we shall discuss skyrim since its the latest for suggestion to TESO.
  • the UI of skyrim is super buggy as u have problem clicking the right object and scrolling
  • the worst of all if u haven use mod, would be the organisation of the inventory. its totally in the mess. I would like TESO to design a UI for inventory to be menu like and u have a "settings" for the UI to suits ur preference. u are able to set the layout, skin(theme) , sorting (according to date, alpha etc) or even a manager like feature where players can create their own category and developers will take note of such good inventory settings by players and implement to other players who is bad at organising
  • I hope TESO will also create a "untouchable" category for quest item so that player would know and items that is related to quest will be highlighted in a quest related category. eg obtain 5 sweetroll and sweetroll be be under quest related category showing how many u have it may oso appear in the food category but it will be in other colour to show that it is important.

Hopefully inventory will be based on weight. I really hope the ui is in no way similar to skyrim's, that modernistic piece of trash menu Beth made was the laziest, ugliest, and most un-user friendly inventory in the entire series.

It will likely be closer to a standard MMO inventory system then a single player game system. You start off with a certain amount of slots, than as you lvl you get more slots and can purchase or acquire additional bag space through varying means.
