Inventory Perfectionist

Post » Sat Jul 28, 2012 3:06 pm

When it comes to inventory management in Skyrim i have to admit, i need my inventory to be as organised as possible. I know you can't move the items you're carrying around. For example whenever im finished with a dungeon i have to go sell all the loot i found immediately. I also like having the same type of armor and weapons on me. Im currently using Nightingale armor, Nightingale bow, Nightingale blade, ebony and deadric arrows because it fits the armor (colorwise).

Last thing i hate (and hope the new patch will fix it) is the quest items bug. Some quest items gets stuck in your inventory even after completion of that quest i.e Gallus's Encoded Journal, and the elder scroll.

Anyone else feeling the same way?

Thanks :)

The fact that I don't have to drag and drop anything in the inventory actually means I feel less paranoid when playing the game. Now Ultima 7... I am obsessed with putting trash in dead animals and giving the archer all the food since he always seems like the best food carrier. I'm glad games don't use that organize 8 backpacks inventory. It gets my obsessive self too happy and excited to organize stuff... That sounded weird.

Quest items are weightless, but I understand why you wouldn't want them. I too hate having to carrying around Gallus' Encoded Journal, even if it is weightless. The same for the Waters of Oblivion (but I actually kind of like that book).

I always have a copy of The Lusty Argonian Maid on hand in every TES game with that book. It never ceases to make me laugh, which is why it is always in the inventory.

I have to admit I feel the same way. One the one hand there's no real reason to be annoyed about it, but on the other hand I can't help wishing these things could be dumped anyway.

I am a minimalist who likes having as little as possible in my menus - not to the extent that I won't carry around my best stuff, but I won't keep any junk in my inventory. :P I like to carry about 75 weight's worth and preferably not go over 100. Anything useless or extraneous I absolutely have to get rid of. I'm glad I'm on PC and can use the 'drop' console command. I do like Elder Scrolls though, and feel pretty privileged to possess them.

This. The only excuse for having encumbrance of over 100 is if you wear heavy armour and haven't gotten the weightless perk for it.

I take this to a next level. I refuse to carry anything my character couldn't logically carry. So I'm left with one set of clothes, the ingredients I gather (currently an alchemist), a sword and a potion or two. I also immediately sell dungeon loot and only loot small things (like gems and gold) and one bulky item (a piece of armor etc.) per dungeon. The house I live in is Spartan to say the least and contains nothing but furniture, books, my alchemy room, food and an abundance of all forms of alcohol and other substances prohibited by Tamrielic law. :D

I tried that once. It was more of an excuse for a Khajiit to run around naked as a jaybird... I was having a naked character phase.
