I'm still very much a beginner with the Creation Kit, and while I figured that I knew how to make simple replicas of certain items, my arrogance has proven otherwise. I shift my blame onto the Bound Sword.
So, here I am, recreating a poor-man's version of Hopesfire and Trueflame from the Tribunal expansion of Morrowind. The wise idea pops in my head that the bound weapons could be a perfect substitute in place of my lack of ability in creating custom models and textures. So I duplicate the boundweaponswordmystic entry, twice, add my own set of enchantments (which include the "EnchBoundSwordFX") to each, and call it a day.
What could go wrong?
The weapons work fine, the enchantments work fine (minus one little thing...), but the weapons appear invisible! So I figured, eh, why not just go the full mile and change into a bound sword spell variant? Perhaps that's the reason why it's failing to work as intended? So, I make a magic effect nearly identical to the original bound sword's, and attach it to a spell. The spell works just fine... aside from my weapon still being invisible.
I double-checked my two replica weapon entries, and their models/1st person model objects are identical to the original bound sword. My enchantment lacks the Banish, Soul Trap, and Turn Undead magic effects, but I doubt that would be the reason*. My magic effect is nearly identical (and the assoc. item 1 points to my weapons) as well, aside from the "HasPerk" Mystic Binding condition being removed.
* The enchantment I'm using is one that attempts to loosely mimic the Bloodscythe/Soulrender scimitars introduced in the Dragonborn DLC. Each of the enchantments listed in my two replica weapons are conditioned with "getequipped" and is linked to the opposite of the two swords of my creation. The enchantment appears to be working just fine, except for the EnchBoundSwordFX not kicking in, seeing as the weapons are invisible.
My spells are a lesser power, each associated with a different hand and independent of casting perks. The duration of both spells is set to 9999 days (they still possess an enchantment charge bar when conjured, which is fine by me unless that is the culprit for all this hair-pulling) with no conditions set.
Therefore, I'm stuck as to what the problem could be. The regular, vanilla bound swords work as intended, but my copies of them are invisible. Anyone have ideas what could be the problem or the solution?
