Invisible chair "furniture" ?

Post » Wed Jun 20, 2012 11:58 am

Is there a reason why the Dev's have made an invisible chair?, if so what?
I noticed that one is located at "Orphan's Tear" at the northern seacoast, the NPC's is sitting in the air and cant figure out why they have made such a thing?

EDIT: Never mind figured it out, they have made it so that NPC's can sit on chopping blocks and things like that

But is there a way to make it so that your character also can sit on those objects/chairs??

You have "invisibleChairPlayerxxxxy" furnitures for the player. The only difference is these are not "marker".

So I can add rocks and such and make them sittable? For the player too if I use that other one?
Cool, that'll come in handy.

Well i have tried that and it don't work, you don't get a activation option to use the item/chair in-game :(

Maybe you can do like I did when I created an invisible door.
If you extract the mesh of the thing you want to make a chair from the BSA, you can duplicate a chair object and replace its model with the one you extracted.
Then you place markers for sitting and then you have a sittable barrel for example.

I did this to make a door out of a well.

using invisible chair works well.

I am using one to let the player actually sit on a wood log.

However you need to be sure that the collision box of the visible element (for example, a log or a rock) is not bigger than the invisible chair, otherwise that won't work well.

@ Stigwa

The funny thing is that there is no mesh for them

@ McGuffin

OK...will look in to that, im replacing all non player invisible "chairs" in the game with the player one...so that both NPC and character can use them.

You can see a use of them in the Eldergleam sanctuary...there are invisible chairs on some ledges so the NPCs can sandbox to sit on the ledges when they're not fighting spriggans.

I was convinced that it worked, this is one of the first thing I put in my dungeon, the possibility to sit on a step. Now, NPCs can use it but not the player. The first time i used it, I was sitting in the air...
