Invisible Head With Morokei & ArchMage Robes

Post » Mon May 28, 2012 10:43 am

I have worn Morokei and the Archmage's robes together before, and my mask-covered face was visible. I just started up the game last night, took both of them off to put elven armor on, then put both back on again later. The only problem was, my head was completely gone! The hood of the arch mage's robes was completely empty! Any idea how to solve this with some clever console trickery or something?

If anyone knows what I can do, please speak up. This glitch is bugging me :P

Yep, i've been having this since pre 1.2. My brother plays on 360 and he said he's experienced the same thing. As far as solutions, i think all you can do is wait.

You mean with the same combination of equipment that I described, or with something different? What exactly happened? Can you describe in more detail?

You mean until you reload your save? If that is what you meant, it does not work for me. I have reloaded countless prior saves as well as my current one, and all of them come up with the same glitch.

This was a known glitch from 1.1, wearing a mask and archmages robes glitches your head. Nothing to do 1.2 version. Happened to me with every mask i wore with the archmages robes.

I appreciate the information. Just glad its a widespread glitch and not something isolated. It is more likely to get fixed that way. The strange thing is, though, i had been wearing both Morokei and Archmage robes during all of these patches, and they both showed up normally. In fact, just last night, they were fine. When I took them off, and put them on again, however, things went awry.

Good news everybody!

I fixed the glitch! I just dropped both my Morokei mask, and the Arch Mage's Robes. Then, I used the console to give me new ones. After that, I saved, quit, restarted, and everything was normal! I was able to wear both at the same time, and still see my head! SUCCESS!!!

Crap. Nevermind. Broke again after some fast traveling.........guess we'll just have to wait for an update.

The glitch seems to be happening on and off, so I guess there is nothing to be done for now. Just randomly occurs, and then later doesn't.

...and it's not just the archmage robes and morokei, it's any armor that includes a hood + any mask. Archmage robe + Morokei is just the combo most people see first because both of those items are rewarded during the Mage's Guild quest chains.

Ok guys this happened to me too and figured out how to fix it in like 5 minutes....

All you have to do is upon load drop the robes then put them back on...THAT'S IT

Keep in mind if you quick load then guess what you have to do!

It's never happened to me from fast travel so you probably loaded at some point and then noticed it after a fast travel...

YOU DON'T NEED TO RESPAWN THEM WITH CONSOLE COMMANDS JUST LEAVE YOU MASK ON DROP THE ROBES THEN PICK THEM BACK UP AND EQUIP.

Morokei and Archmage robes cause invisible character, for me on PC and my brother on 360.

I had this problem too, exact same equipment. It also worked at first but then eventually decided to make the mask and my head disappear.

Ive had this issue and the only fix Ive found is: Flick to 3rd person (usually the F key), Quick save (F5), then Quick load (F9). Viola!! (<< incorrect on purpose...)

Its not a total fix but it'll appease your vanity...at least until you quit to desktop and reload, when it will likely be invisible again.

Also, if youve got more than one mask (I carry Morokei and Krosis) theres no guarantee that it'll fix them both at the same time...
