2 - Is it possible to make a weapon, [for instance a staff] that has different abilities, depending on the key you press to activate?
{Example: Pressing the 1 key on your number pad, causes the staff to shoot lightning magic; pressing the 2 key causes the staff to shoot fire magic, so on and so forth].
I was thinking about trying to make a couple unique items to go along with Neo's Inpou Armor [The Egyptian Anubis Armor].
The First Idea, the Ankh: The Ankh is an amulet that has the power of life and death. It is held in the hand [at least the idea of it is], and when in combat, you activate it to a living NPC and it will kill the NPC automatically. However, there is a price, in killing the NPC, the power used [imaginatively] is so great, it will steal 90% of your health as well. [allowing you to only do it rarely and wisely]. The Ankh would have 5 charges. Once the fifth Charge is used up, it renders it without power. However you'd be able to recharge the Ankh with souls. The Ankh would act like a Black Star Soul Gem that won't be destroyed upon use. [It would only accept Humanoid souls]
The Life portion of this item would revive any given creature or NPC from Death, if used on a dead corpse. As above stated, such a use will destroy 90% of your health and remove 1 charge on the item. How to recharge is as stated above.
Second Idea, The Scepter of Was: This Scepter also considered an Amulet, represented power, strength, and rulership but most importantly was connoted with Chaos and the Typhonic Beast of Set. This item would hold varying abilities. [The idea I'd like to implement if even possible, is each ability may be switched between by pressing the number keys 1-4] [Once you press any of those number keys, the scepter would continue using that ability until a different number key is pressed].
1a - First ability: Pure elemental barrage, it will shoot lighting, fire, and frost, [with a small radius enough to hit a small group of enemies] continuously, unless you stop holding attack.
2a - Second ability: Reflection shield, a shield of magic that deflects all forms of magic away from you. [in doing so there is a great chance of it hurting or killing the very enemies who cast it at you] [The shield lasts as long as you hold the button for it]
3a - Third Ability: Sanctuary, It like the above is a defense use, it prevents you from taking damage as long as you use this, but you cannot attack with the ability activated nor can you inflict damage nor can you move.
4a - Fourth and Final Ability: Chaos, this ability basically would sent out a full-radius blast, within a large area causing all and every creature to attack one another while it also inflicts small amounts of damage to each affected NPC or creature. The affect will last for 60 seconds before wearing off.
This scepter would have an infinite amount of charges/uses, however the price is as long as the item is equipped it drains 3% of your health per second.
Third Idea, The Sekhem Scepter: This scepter represented command, control, and sovereignty within Ancient Egyptian Culture thus it would only make sense for its ability to involve commanding any NPC or creature to fight for you. [they of course wouldn't be follower grade status, they'd only follow on their own will and fight]. This command over them lasts infinitely, however, it will also slowly drain their health. [re-blasting a commanded NPC or creature will set them free. The price for using such power, Your magicka and stamina are drained by 30% every person you command with the staff. There would be 5 charges to this staff. To replenish a charge, you must re-visit the shrine in which it was found at. [replenishing it there is only doable once every 5 days. [1 visit to the shrine, replenishes all 5 charges]
[ My reasoning ] I figured those drawbacks of using these items would balance out the extreme power of them a little bit and it also goes along with the fact that Egyptian Magic was performed much of the time by using Blood or Sacrifice. ]
Any thoughts and opinions? And perhaps someone can answer my Questions at the top of the page as well?
