Iron Dagger=Master Smith in 1hour

Post » Sat May 12, 2012 10:05 am

I personally feel this should have been fixed, I can make these iron daggers which cause 2strips and 1 ingot which give me the same amount of skill-up as if i was making Ebony Armor. This will probably be thrown into the tips section but I figured Bethesda would see it here before anything else.

Nobody forces people to use exploits. If you dont like it; dont use it.

See how my formidable powers of logic instantly invalidated your complaint!

Also: by posting here and not in the spoilers section, (in addition to providing evidence that you cant read) you run an increased chance of other people discovering, exploiting and using this knowledge to ruin their games too.

So nice work! :celebration:

I do this. Hardly an exploit. It still requires effort and money. Although getting master smith isn't even worth it. Dragon armor is crap compared to daedric in both looks and the stats.

Well I sure won't be using this exploit. Still, simple crafting and complex crafting shouldnt raise skill the same way.

@OP
you should make a reqest in the mod section since you make a very good point.

its an easy way to get closer to the next catagory, went from using dwarven the last five hours to smithing orcish.

Well, would it be so hard to make recipes raise the skill according to their complexion (at every "profession)"? Would be more realistic too.

It's not really an exploit as much as a design flaw, hence threads like this popping up.

i agree with OP
the problem is no matter what you make u get the same XP in smithing,
making iron armor should give a bit more then daggars, making steal dagger should be about the same as iron armor or more.
making glass sword should be more then 10 iron armors ect.

at lvl 70smithing an iron dagger should almost not level you up at all.

If you do this, you are kinda screwing yourself over. Yes, you can have some nice gear, but you are now going to be a high level character with low combat skills (Since you got all your leveling from Smithing), making fights with leveled enemies like dragons and bosses extremely tough.

Meh, with 15 skill his 100 smithing weapons will outpreform your high skill non improved weapons by 300%, if he maxes enchanting and alchemy, he can get 500% or better, and thats without using the borderline exploit that people are using to make 1000 rated armor. its pretty sad statement when the developer leaves cheesy loopholes in the game, so you can play the game on the hardest difficulty, rather then actually investing time in game balance, while still making it an enjoyable challenging experience.

If people want to cheat and exploit their game that's not my problem.
I play the game how i want to play and people will play how they want to play.I'm a fat ninja in my playthrough
