Just watched Iron Man 3 today, and it was fairly incredible. The references to the last movies (In particular Thor, Iron Man 2 and the Avengers) were less subtle than in the last movies, which I liked, such as "Since that big guy with the hammer came here, things haven't been the same". Instead of hinting at connections, they've just went along with acknowledging the larger picture in the movies. This had no impact on the immediate plot, however. Also, the events in the Avengers have a significant effect on Tony and the plot, besides from children asking "Will the aliens come back? How did you get back from the worm hole?"
One thing I loved was the constant comments made towards Rhodey that "War Machine was was cooler than 'Iron Patriot'." I believe this is reference to some comic fans who disliked the change, seeing as Rhodey's login for his email is "WarMachineRox86"
The suits obviously got far cooler. I myself preferred War Machine, but Iron Patriot is a worthy replacement. I'm just glad they didn't change Rhodey's character again, I like the current one.
One thing I did like about the film is that they finally recognized Tony Stark's weakness in that him himself, there is little to nothing special going on besides his engineering genius. He comments several times about how it's "all the suit" and "He's hiding in a tin can". He is then put into situations where without the suit where you see Tony struggle, not Iron Man. This was a fantastic choice for the story. Pepper is also an important role, but I won't go into that.
In all, I thought the movie was fantastic, with brilliant action and funny jokes that had the entire audience laughing out loud (myself included). So. Watch it. And to those who have watched it, what did you think?

There was also a teeny weeny X-Men reference (to the movie, specifically) where one particular woman who passes Iron Man has exactly the same hair as Jane from X-Men. Tony then comments "Nice hair, suits you." I think one other guy in the cinema picked up on this reference/possible coincidence.
