Issue: Very low texture quality

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 10:57 am

What should I do if my machine can run BF3 beta on almost the highest quality, amazingly beautifully...And Rage looks like a game from 2000? There are no settings to change, and the nvidia made rageconfig.cfg helped nothing.

My rig:
I7 920, 4GB DDR3, GTX460
Every game runs in 1900x1200, high detail. But not rage. :S

After the patch, I can see a bit difference on the texture quality on mid-range and long-range. However, close-up, the textures look insane terrible still!

If this is a multitexture environment, shouldn't the game change texture quality and make it higher resolution when you look at them up-close? I can't bother with screenshot upload but believe me its terrible looking. Totally ruining it for me, this game goes on the shelves, I'm not gonna play it until they totally fix this issue.

Terribly disappointing.

I don't know if this will help you seeing that you've already tinkered with Nvidia's config file but it's worth a shot: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1240971-bizarre-fix-2-how-i-got-rage-to-work/

Good luck.

Recent tweet from John Carmack
"We have a bicubic-upsample+detail texture option for the next PC patch that will help alleviate the blurry textures in Rage."
