Issue with Trouble In Skyrim 360

Post » Mon Jul 30, 2012 2:35 pm

Hi, 360 user with a bit of an issue. I've already completed the Companions questline, but I decided to keep running quests as a means of income and skill-leveling. Turns out to be a bad idea; I was sent on a Trouble In Skyrim mission to slay some undead. Problem was, it was Forsaken Cave, and the target was Curalmil...who I'd already killed while doing the White Vial questline. I was willing to let it drop, since I had other stuff to do, but when playing Dawnguard, I discovered the Werewolf perk tree relies a lot on the Totems of Hircine quests, which I hadn't done (I thought they were bugged for Aela, who is my character's spouse and I didn't want her to glitch and then never got around to doing them after I think that was fixed). But I can't do those quest for Aela until I finish up the quest for Farkas...which I can't do because the target is already dead.

Is there anything I can do to finish up this Trouble in Skyrim job for Farkas, or am I just locked out of those quests and the relevant Werewolf perks? Can I raise Curalmil (he's still lying there) with a high enough Conjuration, kill him again, and the quest will count as complete? Thanks.

The bugs in this game are ridiculous. I'm stuck on the Companion quest "Rescue Mission" the person I'm supposed to talk to is not in the cave, but I still got credited for saving her, so I'm definitely in the right place, I just can't talk to her to complete it. So now I lose out on the werewolf perk as well because I don't see any way how I can do anything without going WAY back. This is the second big bug I've come across in 3 days of playing. First on I just got stuck randomly, not between anything, just randomly stuck, and no matter how far back I loaded, I was still stuck. I had to start over, luckily it was only after a couple hours of playing, but it was still VERY annoying that I had to start completely over. After these couple of bugs I've been looking for fixes and it's unbelievable how many bugs people complain about in this game... Maybe instead of releasing DLC, they should fix the original game!

You could give it a go. On a console you're really limited in that you can't solve bugs really at all I'm afraid, but that seems like the most logical thing to try out.

You could try using the ritual stone on him. When I was locked from starting the Legion missions I had to clear a fort but when I did it said there was someone still alive. I used the Ritual stone to bring them back, I killed them again then it claimed I finished that mission.

The Companion's missions are quite buggy for some players.

(Every time they 'fix' the game, a new bug arrives that people complain 'should be fixed', its all going to be circular events)

Ritual Stone, eh? Hmmm, that's not a bad idea. I'll give it a go. Thank you!

Sadly, starting over isn't really an option for me; I've already invested about 90 hours in this character, and done a LOT of stuff I wouldn't like to lose. I recognize this is one of the perils of playing an Elder Scrolls game on a non-PC system, and it's not like the Werewolf Perks are completely useless, I mean, I've got all the non-Totem related perks in the tree. If this doesn't work, that's fine, it's not a HUGE issue, but I was hoping to make more use of being a werewolf now that I've maxed all my relevant skills and don't have to worry about that anymore.

Anyway, thank you for the advice about the Ritual Stone. I shall look into it and maybe that will solve my problem. :D

I'm going to give the Ritual Stone suggestion a try first, if only because that won't require my character to grind Conjuration to get a spell high enough level to raise Curalmil, and honestly, if the Ritual Stone idea doesn't work, it seems likely the Conjuration idea probably won't either, y'know? They both do pretty much the same thing. But thanks for the help, I appreciate it. ^_^

I'm probably making it sound worse than it is. It's not like the Werewolf Perks are COMPLETELY dependent on the Totems; you can still get a hefty damage increase and improve your ability to feed off of enemies, but the other three perk lines do require the requisite Totem ability be available to use. So you can still get some use out of it without having done Aela's quest, just not as much. I'm sorry your issue caused you to start over, though, that really svcks. I almost wish they'd done for Skyrim what they'd done for Oblivion by leaving you a save game right before you leave the cave under Helgen Keep with a sort of "last chance to modify your character" thing. At least that way you wouldn't have to go through the entire tutorial area again.
