So lets talk about Marcus's snowy town in NV. What do you want to see here? What quests would be cool? How big should it be? Should there be more snowy places? Do you think it will only snow at certain times of a game year? Feel free to speculate as you wish.

It could be broken hills 2.0. I can see having to work for Marcus again before he comes along.

Well it would be to complicated for it to be changing every day or "year". Why would you play "years" on one character its almost impossible unless you wait 24 hours 365 times..... Most likely be permenent snow. Quest would be nice but I have no idea what kind of people live there. I'd say repair something kill something find something etc....

unless they make it more like FO2 or FO1 going through a hole game year will be very hard. it should be pretty big size. a quest to go up the mountians and fix there radio entena with dogs and bears as well as mole rats up on the slopes fighting them as well as a quest where you have to rescue a small boy who went climbing only to find that he has befriended the animals and is riding the bear around like a horse.

I just meant it might only occour during the Fall/Winter half of the year. Also, I went through almost 3 on one play-throgh in FO3.

A rival town.
+ One seriously demented courier.
+ One bag of dynamite..
+ Yodle.. Yodle.. Yodle hayyoo...
= Avalanche.

Well that would be a fun quest for a snowy town imo.

How about a quest to find and kill a yeti-inspired monster that is slaughtering all of the brahmin/big horners?

I'd like Marcus to become a companion. It would be a real shame if he was just someone that sat around giving a couple quests. Hopefully there will be a good store at Jacobstown that sells advanced weapons and armor that Super Mutants have no use for at a great bargain. Though at this point, all I really care about is having Marcus as a companion.

Uh let me just confirm that the landscape at Jacobstown will not change

And we don't know yet if Marcus is a companion, but if he isn't with the game release and or not one in DLC then . . wtf that is all.

This. I'd also like to see things like Snowy Geckos or something else along those lines. Off-Topic, but are bahmin even in? I wouldn't imagine they're out but we haven't seen any.

I doubt its real snow its more likely nuclear winter. It doesn't matter what season it is for there to be a nuclear winter...

It would make no sense if they weren't! They are in all of the games, so it would be rather disappointing if they are suddenly absent. What are all of the caravan companies gonna use? Pack Big Horners? Well, on second thought, that might work, but only if there are brahmin as well. They are as much of a must as Deathclaws and radscorpians, honestly.

If I'm not mistaken, nuclear winter wouldn't happen all of the sudden in a concentrated area over 200 years after a nuclear war. It would be much more widespread and it would happen quicker than 200 years.

I'd guess so, and yes, I'd say the snow is probably permanent, which I am fine with, since as has been said, players probably won't be playing the game for enough in-game days to have seasons mean anything, and it would ultimately just be more complex programming than it's worth, plus, that would mean that you could potentially play through the entire game without seeing any snow if you didn't go there during the winter months, and never seeing the most unique features of a place (After all, I'd imagine that snow will be rather limited in the game, probably only in the region Jacobstown is located in.)

As for Marcus being a companion, I'd say that if that were not the case, it would be quite a missed oportunity, so it would seem pretty illogical for Obsidian not to do that.

I wonder if Marcus will tell any stories about his experiences with the Chosen One, though?

I think you're correct, I'm pretty sure that nuclear winter would be more or less a global thing, plus, the idea behind nuclear winter is that particles would be sent into the atmosphere which would then block out sunlight, causing surface tempertures to drop due to the lack of sunlight, the skies look too clear in that screenshot to me, if memory serves me right.

he is correct if a nuclear winter were to happen it would have happend a few weeks after the bombs hit and for a few decades after. as far as we know no nuclear winter happend.

the thing is...... now lets role play.... your guy starts having illusions... he see's a super mutant named marcus at a skii resort.... and then he saw the bear from the Klondike bar rapper... then somehow he ends up in jacobstown..... which was some desert town... the reason is for it snowing was Yellowstone erupted and the clouds covered the entire earth to make it snow there..... LOL
