Jarl's clothing?

Post » Fri Sep 21, 2012 11:49 am

Is there a set of Jarl's clothing somewhere in Skyrim that I don't have to kill or pickpocket from a Jarl get? I'm reffering to the kind Elisif wears.

Sadly, no. I'd love to get my hand on her clothes, but since Elisif is essential and the only others who wears those clothes are Potema's ghost (who doesn't drop them) and Torygg (whom I think is impossible to re-kill) there's no way to get them if you're not on PC.

I think the closest thing you can get to a jarl's clothes is this set of noble clothes:

You can steal them from East Empire Company Warehouse in Solitude. I recommend medium level sneak skill to get it plus wear something that's not armor. You should remain undetected.

Or, if you have a low sneak skill, it helps to be Thane of Haafingar :D

True :D

If anyone needs help finding these clothes, you can see them in the following video at about 0:55 to 1:00

This happens to be a video from some active quest, but you can also break into there without doing that mission.

And if you don't like the stolen tag on your clothes you can reverse pickpocket the clothing to a random vendor and buy it back the legal way.

I think that only works if you have certain Speech-perks. I know another way that sounds completely insane, but I confirm it works (at least on PS3, patch 1.5): drop the clothes in front of a child. Pick them up. Stolen tag's gone.
(It's possible this works with advlts, or even just dropping them on the street and pickung them up works, haven't tried though.)

Elisif's are Fine Raiment and, as others have said, unattainable through non-hack means.

You can get a set of Emperor's Robes:
Spoiler
by doing the DB questline.

If you're pre-1.5 or 1.6 (not sure which) you can kill or Pickpocket Thane Bryling and get a set that Ulfric and I think Idgrod wear.

There's also a barrel in the kitchen in Dragonsreach (back left as you enter). Put item(s) in, have follower remove it(them), then take it(them) from follower.

Idgrod, yes, and also Korir (Ulfric's set has a different color but is the same model). Obviously, doing the civil war on the Empire's side is the only other way to get them.

You have to do the DB questline to remove Bryling's essential tag, though. The DB questline is also how you get the Wedding dress.

Conclusion: if you want nice clothes in this game, be an assassin who joins the Legion and is good at sneaking.

Btw, I can't see any picture in that link. So in case someone else has that problem: on females, they look like the ones Laila Law-Giver wear. On males, I understand they look like Balgruuf's (correct me if I'm wrong).

Idgrod, yes, and also Korir (Ulfric's set has a different color but is the same model). Oh, I thought they just changed colors on male v female textures.

Destroying the DB doesn't remove her tag? I just pickpocketed them myself.

I think (but I'm not sure) that Ulfric's clothes get the same color as the others on females. Korir, however, definitely has the same kind of clothing, of the same color as Idgrod and Bryling.

If you say so! None of my characters have touched the DB questline so far. I've read that she's essential until after a certain wedding mission, but I might be wrong.

Yeah, it looks like Ulfric's are unique, but I guess they revert to the standard ones when the PC wears them. I have no experience in this matter as I have never killed Ulfric.

I'm not sure what you're mocking here. I have pickpocketed http://i1209.photobucket.com/albums/cc398/buckomccane/Skyrim/Brylings_clothes_01.jpg off of her. It was on my Assassin Chick after the wedding tragedy.

I don't know if she drops her essential tag if you destroy the DB - I was asking, Dork. :P I can try to kill her on my Warrior Dude who has destroyed the DB (reload after :P). I have no pickpocketing skills on my Warrior Dude, but I may level it up so I can put weapons on NPCs that I like. If I do, I'll try to pickpocket her clothes off of her, but I think she has to be non-essential to do that, too.

Ok, total confusion. I thought you were telling, not asking - I think I missed the question mark or something. :/
