Joinable ReligionsTemples

Post » Wed Jan 23, 2013 2:02 am

Do you think we should have or has the been any word on joinable Religions or temples? I know the forces of the dunmer will have the tribunal temple and other places will have the Eight divines or the dreadra.

So what religion will you worship and do you want joinable religions and how?

I would very mouch love to be able to join a temple or "church" of the nine divines. The more freedom to join varius factions the better .
The tribunal temple is a big question mark for me because if Zenimax want to follow TES lore the province o vvardenfell needs to be closed for outsiders. This leaves the question if the tribunal temple maybe was active outside vvardenfell during the second era?
Anyone got any lore information to dump on me on the matter?

Well the island was (and probably will be due to bethesda saying they will lock off areas for development and expansions) closed off to anybody but the temple, but the forces where still lead by the tribunal and the cities of Almalexia, Sotha Sil, and Necrom, are still temple cities with there respective gods.

Oh and it's the eight divines, remember Tiber Septim the great HAXOR hasn't 0WNED everyone in PVP yet.

I remember there were plenty of temples in every city in the Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall.

Then again, that game was so impossibly big :P

Nine they are in number; Nibenese and Clovians praise Reman Cyrodiil, begat of King Hrol Hillock-Lover.

The ALMSILVI temple hath followers throughout Resdayn; the island to our center is but a refuge for Heretic Ashlanders. Vivec alone and his personal guard, the Buoyant Armigers, dare spread the true tribunal faith in Vvardenfell.

I thought they just praised the hill that would soon become sancre tor, I didn't know it had anything to do with the Eight.

Love the idea, Ive said to them they should make very very extensive guild system, this is one idea too, priests, entertainers, gladiators (ranked PVP, betcha ppl love this.) guild etc etc. Players like to choose what they belong, there needs to be options, its massive RP boost to the character.

Other. Several truly obscure ones, including the veneration and vilification of the One, Elkism, premature Numidiumism, the New Tribunal and the Old Ways, Pre-Esh Alessianism, and unending love of the Hairy Ape Prophet.

The number of religious views that a Marukhati may hold is equal to or greater than the factorial of the total number of Marukhati in existence (plus one).

But yeah, none of these are going to be in the game.

I agree. This should be a part of your character creation, and act the same way your sign does in Morrowind/Oblivion. Nothing to overpowering or unbalancing, but maybe something like FFXI had. Every class had a major ability that could be used once every 2 RL hours. It was a big one, and could get you out of a tight squeeze, so you were wise to save it for when it was needed.

Well some I didn't include because they didn't really exist then, the dragon cult because it was disbanded ages ago, the king of worms because he wasn't properly "worshiped intill he found godhood, the old ways would be the right way in skyrim, (I put it as the skyrim pantheon) and by akatosh I'm pretty good with my lore and I haven't even SEEN the names of some of the cults you just mentioned, so they fit nicely into "other (seriously?)"

Definitely Sithis, though I'll be very angry if I find I have to kill all my new friends again.

Wait a daedric cult..a molag bal shrine and quest for him would be hilarious seen as though he stole your soul and is an antagonist

My characters in TES are always atheists content on becoming God :D I've never joined a religious faction other than to further my own power lol. So probably all of them.

His Shrine would probably have to be secret, and he would probably trick you by offering your soul back then not giving it to you when you've completed his quest "Foolish mortal! Molag Bal knows no mercy! Now go! Slaughter your own kind like the fool you are!"

I can actually see this happening, Although going on a daedric quest without a prize would annoy a lot of people so maybe he can give you his mace or something then repeats what you quoted

Ohhh, then it dawns on the player that you and the rest of tamriel, are doing exactly what molag bal wants, fighting each other for a seat of power that will mean nothing when tamriel is in cold harbor... then you go do it anyway. (well what better way to test out your new mace than on a few dovahkids?)

Bah! Why is it people won't give my threads the time or day, but cloned rubbish like "hey wot provance/race/illiance will U play ass? POLLL!" gets pages and "hey will it be on the Wii? Hurp" get top spot?

Is it my wording? Is it my presentation? It can't be the subject, elder scrolls religion is one the most lore filled and interesting subject in the series!

Maybe I should just delete this thread and make a "Hey wot race will U be" or "I dont leik Y race in X illience BAAWW!" clone thread, I'm going to make a thread on the possibility of dragons being included, if DRAGONS doesn't tickle the dovahkids attention spans's I don't know what will, I just know I'm taking my discussions some place else.

Calm down, you have to realize that there is little known about TESO for now. So, yes you'll see a lot of posts about stuff that doesn't even apply to TESO. This is a basic forum for us to talk. No sections no structures, just "General" so dont be discouraged. It can take awhile for a "topic" to be noticed. I myself have always had that issue. I tend to watch and post instead of my own. You'll get a lot of "negative" posts in your thread.

As long as you are posting something, in my opinion, that doesn't conflict current TESO info, it's quite valuable to gain feedback from. Just don't get frustrated, that leads to rage posting, and that leads to Mod telling you to chill ;) (I know)

It would make sense to have them and "Shrines" have been part of TES games. But since some people are against the Race/Alliance concept, this would just add more complications and issues for "lore / pvp / TES fan boys" I could see them having some, but only if it were a noticeable bonus like in TES. Has little RP/Cosmetic value to me.

Nah boyyy, Reman was the first to mantle Shezzar. And Shezzar is the Cyrodillic Shor/Lorkhan. When Talos shows up, he mantles Reman directly by founding the empire as well as Shor/Lorkhaj directly with the whole rimmen thing.

The only way that I can imagine they could add Vvardenfell as an expansion (which they said they want to) is if they made everyone join the Tribunal Temple to visit the island.

I doubt that non-Dunmer would be allowed to join under ordinary circumstances, but considering Morrowind is currently allied with Skyrim and Black Marsh, maybe they are experiencing some temporary open mindedness.
