Joining the Legion after finishing the Dark Brotherhood?

Post » Tue May 29, 2012 11:53 am

I'm pretty much done with the Brotherhood.

Then I just realized, what happens if you try to join the Imperial Legion afterwards?

It would be kind of hard to take the oath and swear to protect the Emperor with a straight face...

I did it the other way round.

"FOR THE EMPIRE!"

*two days later, stabs Emperor*

...what?

That's pretty much what I did but I was wondering what happens if you do the brotherhood first.

BTW, I killed the Emperor's cousin while she was on balcony addressing her guests. I was wearing the Imperial armor that was given to me, just a little bit of RP of how an assassin would do it.

Baddass. You're supposed to be able to use Hooded Thalmor Robes as a disguise in the quest 'Diplomatic Immunity', but it's pretty buggy. RP'ing it is cool though.

I heard somewhere that the dialogue does not change at all. Shame.

The Emperor was very cool about the whole shanked in the back thing. Cool enough that I did what he asked and stabbed the guy who sent me on the quest in the first place.

Then I bought all the upgrades, was horrified at the naked elderly women and stuff in the torture chamber ( Bethesda, for this I would strike you if you were a person not a corporate entity) and realized that I wasn't really an agent of destiny culling people who deserved it, but just a psychopathic murderer in some sociopath's piece of fan fic, and I reloaded a save from before starting the quest, killed Astrid when she thought her sixy voice would make it ok for me to murder terrified captives, then killed everyone in the DB sanctuary. Now all the guards in Skyrim give me props and I feel much better.

I in fact noted this on the UESP.

The only difference is he omits the "For Titus Mede the Second..." line, but still says long live the Emperor.

So, I don't get it. I was expecting some more reaction. I know full well that the death of an Emperor doesn't end an Empire, but was still hoping for more commentary.
