So, yeah, I dislike paying 'retail' for houses and use the exploit - don't judge me. Since there are no containers in or near the main hall in Palace of Kings I was gonna' wake Jorleif up at night or wait for him to awaken in the morning. Soooo WhereTF does he sleep?

As you enter the Palace Of the Kings, take the second door on the right. It should lead downwards (not through a loading screen) and he should be on a bedroll.

I checked there (and all the other rooms - even the zone change ones) and eventually he was wandering around all night. I'll check there another night. I bought the house already, but at least I'll save on the upgrades.

Assasinate a guard, drag his body to where he is standing. Use exploit. Swear at your console/pc due to Hjerim bugs.

Yeah, I've read about how buggy that house is so I'll probably not store anything important in it for now.

If you've already completed Blood on the Ice, make sure to buy the cleanup upgrade before anything else, as 1) it often fails to function properly if you don't, and 2) it ceases to be available after you furnish the living room.

Storage isnt the problem, its getting the house itself AND having the mess cleaned up with all interactibles working. I spent days trying to fix it on the console.

Hopefully at this point you have already completed blood on the ice, are on the stormcloaks side and have become thane, all before doing the dark brotherhood quests, I started a new character just to do all that.

I was able to catch Jorleif on that bed roll eventually. When I first checked it the cook guy was on it so I went upstairs to check the bed where I had seen the cook guy the first night I tried to find Jorleif. After I came back downstairs Jorleif was on the bed roll.

Yes, I've completed Blood on the Ice (with no bugs actually ) and I chose to have Jorleif clean up "after the murderer". I had read in other threads to make sure I did that even though I was tempted to leave the mess for comical reasons. I've finished the civil war (sided with the Stormcloaks) and I'm pretty sure I'm Thane because I seem to remember Ulfric giving me the weapon reward, but I'll double-check before I visit the house for the first time.

I 'opted out' of the DB early on so that's not an issue...hopefully.

I've 'purchased' all the upgrades - had to actually pay for one because one of the guards came down and trapped me in a dialogue warning about using my shouts in town before I could Slow Time...btich!
