Juicing for health (and I don't mean Steroids)

I just recently bought a juicer (the http://www.amazon.com/Omega-VRT350-Dual-Stage-Vertical-Single/dp/B00434JINO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1358842605&sr=8-1&keywords=vrt350 for anyone that cares) after watching "Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead" and http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2011/11/13/benefits-of-juicing.aspx about all the http://www.naturalnews.com/034511_carrots_juicing_health_benefits.html http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2012/08/21/health-benefits-juice_n_1819002.html of juicing. I was a bit hesitant at first because I have never really had vegetable juice before (never drank a V8) and I didn't know if I would like it. Thankfully my trepidations turned out to be a waste of time because the taste of the juice is really not all that bad plus I was able to get a lot of vegetables in 1 glass.

Here's what I used the first time:

4 stalks of celery
3 carrots
1 green apple
2 handfuls of spinach

I had to throw some ice into my glass but other than that it was really good and it is actually quite fun to throw different combinations in and see what comes out (kind of like being an evil genius working in a lab).

Does anyone else juice and if you do, what are your favorite recipes?

Veg juice is great for you, just don't use it as substitute for a healthy meal - people will try to talk you into a 'detox' diet (only juices for several days), which is ridiculous since the body really doesn't need to detox, so don't listen to them.

Watch out with the fruit juices too, they contain a lot of sugar (natural fruit sugar is still sugar), so drink them in moderation.

As for recipes, you seem to be having a good one already, but beet root juice is a nice option if you want to stay in shape (it's a natural endurance booster), and pureeing a kiwi fruit and drinking it an hour before going to bed is beneficial for your sleep.

I'm probably gonna buy me a juicer soon too, since I love fruit and veg but I always forget to eat them :P

I learned that yesterday when I tried putting 2 apples, a pear, a handful of raspberries, and a few strawberries in a blend and tried to drink it. Normally with the mostly vegetable ones I can drink them pretty fast but this one I had to slow down because it felt "heavy" and it made me feel a bit slower later in the day.

That is the main reason I bought one.
