Just How Much Content?

Post » Mon Aug 06, 2012 1:21 pm

This is absurd, just how much content is in this game? There's six main questlines (MQ, CW, Companions, Mages, DB, and Thieves Guild), then there's the Bards College, all of the side quests/miscellaneous quests, all the dragon priest masks to collect, 18 skills to train, you can play as a werewolf or vampire, then there's all the shouts you can collect, all the random stuff available to do that you can RP with like cooking or hunting, 150+ dungeons to explore, houses to buy and furnish, followers to mingle with, you can get married, explore 5 main cities plus numerous towns and settlements, then factor in Dawnguard and it's not even fair what Beth has done!

I know, right?

I mean, it took more than one play of the singleplayer campaign to do everything, or at least the stuff I could find. And I still can't find the Team Death Match button, maybe my game is missing the multiplayer disc? Is there some 39GB update I need to add the map packs and AK-47?

I could probably do every quest in the game in less than 100 hours. Plus explore each dungeon.

200+ hours was my first playthrough in oblivion were I did the MQ, fighters guild (oblivions companions), and knights of the nine ( a smaller dlc) oblvion's quests were alot longer and better written too.

The big question is why would you want to do that? 1800 hr's and I still haven't found everything or finished every questline.

I play on the PS3. Lag is still inevitable.

Same here. The game is really actually designed to be played through multiple times by multiple characters, not for you to do everything on one character. Enemies stop leveling at 50, and the game gets extremely boring after that.

I've finished all the questlines (on different characters, that is) due to having lots of characters in the past, but I definitely haven't done everything. Nor do I intend to, I only seek to RP and have fun.

Yeah sure by fast travelling everywhere and missing out on all the randomization of the game, but its your game experience ruin it whatever way you want.
I myself am over 900 hours in the game on my 15th or so character and i still havent even touched the bard's college, stormcloak civil war side, only done about half the daedra artifact quests, have ps3 version so havent played dawnguard yet, only done about half of the side quests.

Also, i dont know why you're using the ps3 lag as a crutch. I only play on the ps3 version and i havent had the "ps3 lag" since january, and im playing the game constantly still. Actually i havent had skyrim even remotely lag since then, sure its froze a few times, but every game on ps3 freezes every now and then.

If you're on PC, you can also factor in massive amounts of mods too!

Maybe I should do as many quests I can do within a 100 hour limit. No leveling, no armor, only daggers, no horses, no carriages, no followers. and no fast travel.
Anyways, I spent 16 hours on my current playthrough and only did the Stormcloak questline.

I wish the guilds would've been at least three times as long... But the mages guild should've been a dozen times longer and the companions about five times as long.

I know there's a ton of sidequests and a lot of content, but I love the guilds and I've played TES always focusing around the guilds... But in Skyrim it's not that fun because they're so short :o

Yes the quantity is good, but it lacks in quality. The writing of the guild questlines and dialogue svcks big time. Oblivion was more inspired.

Yes theres a lot of stuff to do but it does get a little bland though, because quests tend to have less uniqueness than what I saw in (some of) Oblivion's quests, and they all tend to follow a dungeon-crawl approach.

I want more WHODUNITs, or that quest with the painter stuck in his painting, etc. Stuff that feels different and refreshing and unusual. Sadly Skyrim is lacking a bit in this regards, and I hope theyll tailor future DLCs to correct this weakness in part...

Well that's right.
But still , there are some VERY good quests out there , The Forsworn Conspiracy for example , It took me three days in game to finish , and it all was INSIDE the city.

There are unique quests , but still many are the common ones.
