Just noticed something about Ahzidal's boots

Post » Mon Feb 04, 2013 11:43 am

So I went the enchanting table with Ahzidal's apparel to enchant a sword. Using the chaos enchantment plus absorb health I got some trully outrageous stats. (I have augmented flames - rank 2 and augmented shock - rank 2) After enchanting the sword I put away Ahzidal's stuff and took another look at the sword. What had been outrageous stats were now only massively overpowered. I was puzzled, so I took out the Ahzidal gear again and put it on. The sword's stats were now back up to being outrageous.

So apparently Ahzidal's boots (when worn with the other stuff) will increase the magnitude of existing enchantments.

(just for clarity's sake: outrageous > massively overpower. :) )

What is your "outrageous"? 200? 300? Did you manage to hit 400?

I did not notice this.

I was wearing the 4 piece Az. set, in order to get the 10 percent to enchanting while enchanting.

I also drank the fortify enchanting potion.

Then I did the enchants. I managed to hit as high as plus 32 to smithing and alchemy, plus 52 to one hand/archery, 81 percent magicka regen, 81 percent disease resist, plus 48 percent shock/fire resist... etc.

They are still those stats with the Az. set (and the boots, of course) off.

I think the same thing happened to me. I had the boots on and my spells stopped costing me.

With a +35% enchanting potion I got to 225 shock/fire/frost damage and 75 absorb health. After I took the apparel off the stats dropped to 180 shock/fire/frost and 60 absorb health.

I wonder what would have happened if I had augmented frost as well as flames and shock? I also wonder what would happen if my second enchant was one of the augmented desctruction elementals instead of absorb health? I bet the enchanments would have been out of the galaxy (or whatever the ES equivalent is. Atherium?)

Wearing four pieces of Azhidal's gear gives you +10 to enchanting (+12) if you are a necromage vampire. I made a sword dual enchanted with chaos and absorb health that did 283 chaos damage and 118 absorb health. If all three elements of the chaos enchantment fire off that would be 283 x 3 damage from just that enchantment. I was using +61% fortify enchant potion made from +43% fortify alchemy gear along with Azhidal's gear.

How'd you get the alchemy gear to plus 43 percent fortify alchemy?

Even shuffling with the plus 10 percent, of azhidals, after making a plus 32 percent smithing/alchemy set, then the plus 43 fortify enchanting potion, the next enchant I did to a new piece was only going to be 32 percent (alchemy); This made me assume its capped at 32 percent?

I'm also doing that making use of the thing where you can have both the circlet, and the heavy falmer mask, as plus alchemy.

I am a vampire with the necromage perk,I used the black book, Azhidal's gear, and when making alchemy equipment I used falmer and pen oc helmets so that I could wear five fortify alchemy items instead of four.

Yeah, I'm hitting five alchemy things too (falmer helmet and circlet thing.) I did not think necromage also made that much of a difference, wow.

oh...

Characters with http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Vampirism_(Skyrim) and the Restoration perk http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Necromage will see improved strength of enchantments when they are equipped—the fortify alchemy gear can be maxed at 33%, the enchanting potion at 46%, and smithing potion at 184% (in conjunction with the Falmer Helmet + Circlet exploit.) With http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Necromage, the bonuses from the 33% gear will show up as 41% in the active effects

Yeah, the necromage perk makes all the gear you wear and all of the potions you dring 25% more effective. It results in an enormous difference.

MAJOR CORRECTION! ---- MAJOR CORRECTION! ---- MAJOR CORRECTION!

I was wrong in my initial post. It was not Ahzidal's boots that was boosting the value of my enchantment, it was his mask.

I checked with all three Dragonborn Dragon Priest masks. Each one will boost the value of its respective enchantment.

Thus, Ahzidal's mask will boost the value of fire enchantments. The other masks will boost the value of Frost and Shock enchantments.

I remember the in game info saying if you wear 'at least' 4 bits of his armour... but I only found 4? Ring, Boots, Armour, Helm...? Are any others also in Kolbjorn Barrow? Or have I got everything? Boosting enchantments would be fun if you could increase your destruction damage and not just make it cheaper to cast. Mages never have any fun.

There are two rings and you missed the gauntlets (I did too, the first time around).
