Hey all

I'm new to all of this and I have just ordered Skyrim .. It really court my attention when I saw all the videos and trailers...

I know I should probably play the old games to get into the series but I seriously don't have the money to buy all the games..

Any advise on this particular series?

I'm so excited.. I have been playing Battlefield for years and now when Battlefield 3 disappointed me. I wanted to try something new and Skyrim was what I turned to :)

Hope those of you who have the game enjoys it..

Advice? Take it slow and save often. Its the type of game that can offer tremendous enjoyment because of all the small details

Stick with it, Elder Scrolls games tend to seem boring at first, because it's not the usual "Start a game and HOLYCRAPMONSTERSATTACKINGEVERYWHERE!!!!" like most linear games. The openness of these games tend to overwhelm newcomers. It's doesn't start getting interesting until you start doing some quests and visiting populated areas.

Depending on your gaming style, it can be anywhere from 10 hours (if you don't do anything but the main quest) to well over 200 if you explore, do side quests, etc.

If you savour the game and take it slowly, hundreds of hours.

Main quest - 30-40 hours.
Side quests - 300+ hours.

Replay value - 1,000 hours.

Sounds awesome ! .. That means that for me it will take:

Main quest - 3-4 month
Side quests - 1-3 years

Replay value - 9-10 years :P

Going to be great...

Take a peek into the Morrowind forum. It was released in 2002. Many people are still playing their characters that started playing on release day. TES games are a completely different ballgame my friend. Welcome to the cult!

I just wanted to follow up with a question ..

Since I am new in this series and I will receive the game, hopefully, on monday... What is the first thing to do ?? I read that a lot of people wonder around .. People use time on crafting .. People are getting cursed by vampires and need to find curses ... and so on ...

What's some of the first things to do when I have finished the intro?

My advice: Immerse yourself, immerse yourself, immerse yourself. Rp, rp, rp.
