Just rewatched the Spongebob movie :(

Post » Sat Nov 02, 2013 9:28 am

I gotta say, the movie and the series' before were amazing. Afterwards was terrible because Nick chose to drag the series on for moneh.

Anyway, I just rewatched the film for the first time in over five years, and I feel REALLY sad now. :( It was the kinda crux of my childhood, that movie, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6E5m_XtCX3cNow I get really nostagic/emotional when I hear it. Because it's the sendoff my childhood deserved, but not what it got.

I dunno, just wanted to post this. Anybody else feel the same way as I?

Well, when you get a child and you want to show it Spongebob you could always stop there and tell it that there that was the end. Then at least your child could have a proper ending to it. And no, I don't, cause I don't really care for Spongebob. However, The Cube and me have a hate/love relationship. On one hand I love the film but on the other hand I will never be able to rid my brain of the memory that the film has an awful sequel and prequel that ruins the mystery element in the original film. (The other two films were made solely for profit, not because it actually added anything to The Cube series (shouldn't even have been a series in the first place))

On that note, if anyone hasn't seen The Cube: go watch it, however do not watch the prequel and sequel no matter how curious as to how bad they are. Don't even read up a summary on them, just watch the original film and then ignore the other two completely.

I loved Spongebob. I was hesitant to watch it at first because the concept is so stupid, but the execution was golden.

I don't remember the movie much.

And does it really matter if a show you liked turns to crap? It doesn't make the old stuff any worse. You can still fully enjoy that and ignore the new stuff. Don't feel like it ruined your childhood or anything.

Keep in mind a bad ending can ruin a serial show. But Spongebob was too episodic for that to matter. A bad end is wasted opportunity, not much more.

I was never a fan of Spongebob. Now, having said that I love the Spongebob movie. I think it's funny. I also like the newer episodes more than the older ones now. My daughter likes Spongebob as well.

Pretty sure Spongebob has been on for 14 years now, doesn't seem that old.
