Just a suggestion.

I dont know if this belongs here, but how do you guys feel about HC mode ? I like most aspects of it, but some I hate. I hate companions dying, as the AI isnt the best, and I dont like stims healing over time because I find healing over time annoying. I wonder would it be possible maybe in a dlc or something to edit the options so hardcoe becomes like a list with options, allowing you to toggle the parts of it on and off, so if you like compaion deaths but hate everything else then you only have compaion deaths. I dont know if that could be done in a dlc/patch but think it would be good as I like having to eat/sleep/drink have ammo have weight and use doctors bags, it makes it more interesting and gives lots of useless items purpose.
What do you guys think ?

I would like hardcoe mode to have you gain Dehydration, and Food Loss, and Sleep meters fill faster.

Abou the options thing I think that would be really cool. Also being able to adjust the speed at which your meters fill would be a good idea.

I support this, but it wouldn't count as a full HC mode unless you have all the boxes ticked.

Also, I think they should add in extra HC mode, where food doesn't give HP, and limbs still can be repaired with DB and by doctors, but take a few days to heal.

That would be TERRORCORE

I also found that some aspects of hardcoe added to the experience while others were just tedious and thought toggleable options would be nice but I doubt we'd see this added. Maybe it's something we'll see in a future game. :)

It would not be hardcoe mode if you could pick and choose what parts of it you want. The Devs came up with it because people wanted more of a challenge. I hate the idea of companions not dying and ammo not having weight. I am playing one play through without it just to see what its like and I am not enjoying it.

Then dont play HC.

I honestly dont think its HC enough.

I never have to worry about sleep even though i never sleep in beds.

I can carry just as much ammo as normal.. (ie safe amounts)

can still carry tonnes of guns. can still fast travel.

I have to implement my own handicaps to make the game more difficult.

endurance and perception at 1 on my next playthrough.

http://www.mastersofhardcoe.com/

I think these guys can help you.

Seriously though, alot of people would like toggleable options from the HC part of the game, course it wouldn't be HC without the full package.

Sorry for the slo-ness I just posted in this thread about 1 minute ago..:D

I sure you've all see the war game sims such as Silent Service where you can toggle on and off realism setting to customize the level of difficulty you want.
It doesn't seem like a major change to let the player pick what he wants. Water yes/no, food yes/no, etc etc. If you don't want to do that just pick a preset for easy, normal, hard or suicide.

Well yes to get the achivement all boxes would have to be ticked.

I know, but I enjoy eating, drinking and sleeping in the game, it gives food and water a purpose, and beds a purpose. I just dont like companions dying because I am not their caretaker and stimpack healing just annoyis me.

What would be wrong with an toggle option ? I enjoy some aspects, others just annoy me, in normal I dont have to eat, drink and sleep, its rather dull, but I play normal becuase I dont want companions do die because thier AI made them run into a cazador nest.

Also I agree with what someone else said about food/drink/sleep meters filling up faster. I found I had to have a drink about once every hour or so, not very challenging.
Sadly im xbox and cant use mods.

I love all the options in hardcoe, some need to be improved though. I actually like companions being able to die, it gives a bit of intensity to the fights which is a lot more fun then sneak-crits from 2 miles out with a 50 cal. hardcoe makes you use things like food, water, beds, and the survival skill which is actually pretty fun to use. It also makes you distrubute your SPECIAL points a bit differently, try going 10 Charisma instead of 10 Luck and watch your companions kick ass!

I do wish that:
Food meter went up faster
Sleep meter went up alot faster and you had to sleep for more than 1 hour to set it back
Stimpacks were rarer in hardcoe
Radiation was more damaging
Companions would use anti-venom (damn cazadores)

hardcoe is an improvement but there still needs to be an even harder *realistic* option. Where the game would factor in bullet chambering, and making bullet damages more realistic. I don't care how tough you are, if a .44 magnum hits you in the head you are dead.

Me and Fawks used to chase Dogmeat all over the capital area, hunting Enclave, and just keeping him alive was a hoot.

Yes it it, I once had boone chase after some cazadores (I had him with melee weapons at the time for some reason) anyway I got a nice boone is unconcious message. Glad it wasnt HC, and traps, traps are terrible.

I agree with the meters. Butr stimpack rareity wouldnt work as people could just keep visiting the followers every 24 hours.
I think if I payed HC it would give my survival skill some use. I really want to ue survival, but now its just pointless being there. And food would have a use, outside of HC its just sold for caps. But HC just isnt fun when having companions becomes an escort mission and stimpacks dont heal when you need too, your being shot you dont want it to slowly go up while still being shot.

I dont know how hard it would be to impliment a system like this (especially when linked to an achivement) but it would be good if there was an option to change the meters aswel, seems quite a few people find them a bit to easy to counter. But I am willing to bet lots find the eating/drinking/sleeping part tedious and just like the risk of companion death.
