Run it through windows movie maker, it makes it a much more manageable size. :P

Yeah Fraps records it raw. It's so it doesn't lose performance compressing it.

You can use a 3rd party (free) converter to make it smaller for upload.

P.S.

Even Windows Movie Maker works for this.

Fraps records uncompressed. You need to compress it afterwards. I recommend Handbrake, it compress in x264 which is the best version of h.264 imo, which is already the best compression system and it's free :D

Will it lose quality? There is little point in uploading if it's just going to look crappy from compression.....

Yeah, try AVC/H.264 (same thing) in an mp4 if you're going for Youtube. At least 4 Mbps.

I won't be getting my Skyrim until tomorrow since I pre-ordered at a local mall :(

Yes it will. The more it's compressed the more noticeable it'll be.

Youtube allows full HD uploads. It'll just take a long time.

Stick it in Windows live movie maker and then click save for High definition display.

Just uploading to YouTube now.

Not sure hw succesful it will be. I just uploaded directly from windows movie maker.

It's Riverwood btw. Don't expect to see new footage. I thought the most logical PC footage to share would be one to directly compare to console.

http://virtualdub.org/ Much better. It's free, btw.
What compression codec you can use will depend what's available/installed on your computer (or included w/the program etc), AFAIK.

And yeah, FRAPS raw files are huge at full, HD sizes.

I'll have to look it up. Been using VDub for years and it's great when you want to do more than a straight conversion (editing) but sometimes I wish it had a few options that it doesn't (easily) have. You can get plugins and such for VDub but whether they work/are what you want depends who made them. heh. I've tried some other free converters and so far haven't liked any...haven't heard of bandicam tho so thanks for another name to try. :)

Edit: oh nvm, that's a recorder. But I'll check it out too...sometimes FRAPS isn't the best, either. :)

Ok... I've had a bit of failure. Just spent that whole time uploading and it only came in 480p!!!!! What the [censored]?????

SIGH.

SOrry guys... Here is attempt one anyway:... I'll try attempt two.

I hate youtube.

*EDIT*

Oh wait... If you go to this link, it will allow you to select the 1080p.

And yeah... Keep in mind there is some pixelation from compression. It definitely looks better in the raw video. A significant step up, in fact.

Same, except I preordered online and they promised it today. You could always return it (buy through steam) and demand a refund, but I'll rather just get the box, drink mead tonight, and sleep anyhow.
