Your obviously wrong, MGS has a deep and complex story. Assassins creed has a deep and complex story.

:lmao:

I liked this review although I only read the beginning and the last paragraph. It might have some spoilers but I think the beginning of the article is safe.

It doesn't have any spoilers. You can safely read the whole thing.

Great writeup, that. I think there's something to be said for the fact that Dishonored has been billed by both developer and publisher as something that supports any playstyle, so I think there's some validity -- cringeworthy as it may be -- to the argument that the action approach shouldn't be so short.

That's like saying I watch music videos in the hope of seeing a story behind the music.LOL).
Actually I disagree, I find that like listening to music without giving thought as to what the song means and what the lyrics are trying to convey.

Thank you Oof, I will now. I don't race through games so reading this was good. I'm looking forward to playing and learning about all the game has to offer.

Oh hai, I'm going to write my review of six after watching a pr0n video. I haven't actually experienced it,
but I feel like I can objectively and fairly critique how it is just from that. :D

Not to say you wouldn't be right about *some* things, but a more....personal experience would yield a
better review with greater details. ;)

Hmmm, well while watching videos might have given u some insight into the game I will say that that approach would only be surface at best as opposed to actually playing the game yourself. I hope u intend to do the latter, I think dishonored has a lot more to offer than your lukewarm review attempts to lead us to beleive

Does this planescape , or your longest journey have philosophies and complex character motives?

Have you played either?

I haven't played Longest Journey yet: I picked it up in the Steam sale a while ago, but Thief has been getting in the way. I really need to start playing it if it's that good.

Googe it. Lets just say they make Assasins creed and MGS look like the cartoon like "in your face" stories they really are. But then again, people have different taste right?

Oh, and Im absolutely sure you wound hail the perfect experience that is AC if you only watched a stream of it... Dishonored is about personal immersion and player choice, you won't catch that feeling by watching a stream.

I haven't played Longest Journey yet: I picked it up in the Steam sale a while ago, but Thief has been getting in the way. I really need to start playing it if it's that good.
It really is. Sure it will feel clunky at first, and some of the puzzles are horribly mean. But damn you fall in love with those characters. And the end journey is both epic and sad at the same time

Well, the premise of the story is pretty simple. Revenge.

Anyway, if you want backstory then you have to dig for it.

Perhaps the guy playing the stream wasn't digging hard enough?

About the ending... there are three but I will wait to see them myself before I judge.

Like someone else said, it's subjective.

Or you just didn't get it somehow.

I haven't either of those games but I wonder whether or not bigboss has. Otherwise he can't say that Planescape or the Longest Journey don't have deep characters or complex philosophies. To him MGS has both of these but to others MGS's themes or characters are ham-fisted hokey.

But hey I'll take a compliment whenever I get one .

I can put up with bad puzzles and clunkiness if it means great story and characters: like Penumbra BP with those laser explosives (I swear it took me several tries because I couldn't time my jumps right. I'll have to install it now then; it'll give me something to play while American gamers enjoy Dishonored.

Has the guy been to any of the shrines? Has he looked at the backstory?

Good move  Never got to play Black Plauge but Overtue and Amnesia were amazing, looking forward to A machine for pigs

Longest Journey is this epic fantasy/scifi story with some great character arcs, kinda like something written by that Firefly and Serenity guy. Planescape is basically the love child of platon and socrates, very heavy on the philosophy part
