Whenever I approach Karthspire to continue the quest Alduin's Wall I CTD the moment I discover Karthspire. I was told that if any mods altered the space, it would, but the only one would've been a water texture improvement mod, which when unloaded leaves the vanilla water texture intact.

Everything I've tried so far - All starting outside of Riverwood immediately after getting the Alduin's Wall quest:

Disable mods through Nexus Mod manager, cleansave, clear local files in Steam, delete Skyrim folder, reinstall from disc using method outlined in these forums, load from launcher instead of SKSE, disable hires DLC - no
*Tried the last 20 saves, the final one being before I downloaded any mods - no (took a while because I had to get all the way to the Alduin's wall quest each save)
*TLL: No - disable LOD, reload cleansave, FTT to Old Hroldan, proceed toward Karthspire cell, CTD
*COC: No - coc karthspirecamp gets me to the camp, but the moment I get to where I discover Karthspire proper, CTD
*COC KarthspireCamp + TLL: no
*coc karthspirereboubtexterior: no
*coc karthspireredoubtstart (inside of the cave) and walk outside to continue the quest: no
*above+ setstage + port esbern and delphine in: no, they don't talk about the quest
*above - setstage: no, they freeze, CTD
*any of these + TAI (just a wild guess): no
*Got the Creation Kit. dikeed around in it for a bit to try and see if I could mod the Karthspire experience so it would work. No dice.
*Was at ATI 12.3 - downgrade to 12.1 ATI drivers, upgrade to 21.4 - nope, neither

So this is a complete gamebreaker. Any help would be appreciated.

if it pi**es you off to much use this comand in console completequest Completes the quest instantly. Quest IDs can be found in http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Category:Skyrim-Quests
click on the quest your stuck on and up the top will be the quest id .

Thank you for a reply. I know that command perfectly well, and I'm avoiding it. I only resorted to the console because I was trying to fix the problem. While I suppose it would allow me to continue with the main quest line, I wouldn't be able to do the Blades quest and it still doesn't answer the riddle of why I CTD at Karthspire.

As for your attitude, I meant no whininess when I said I've encountered un-repairable bugs that did not allow me to continue the story in the last 3 installments. You on the other hand, have no such excuse for your rudeness. I took what I thought was the offending part out to prevent any more ire, if it's going to be a problem.
