Well do you think those Weapons should be back? i Think they should be not only for Diversity but for Gameplay reasons. they could be a bit like the fine steel longsword is better than the long sword well the steel katana is even better.

Yes please, the more weapons the better, and I am fond of Katanas.

Different, but not better. They had Katanas in Oblivion, and since Akavir seems to play a prominent role in the game, I think Katanas will be prominent as well. The more weapons the better I say.

I'd like to see Katanas return. I'd like to see a Chokuto as well, but that's just me :P

Yes. And spears, and crossbows, and thrown weapons, broadswords, melee staves...everything they cut from MO weapon wise.

I think they should include as many weapons as possible without going against the lore. As long as they can provide a reasonable explanation for a weapon type being in the game, I am happy to have it. I am definitely against the ideas of just having new weapons for the sake of variety, if there is no explanation for how they came to be there.

Dao broadswords brought over from... Yokuda?

Yokuda has been gone for centuries. :ermm: Maybe if some old Yokudan artifacts are discovered, including some weapons/armor, and Skyrim smiths study the weapons and attempt to replicate them, that would work for me. Or if an up-and-coming smith is just fiddling around trying some new designs and that's what he comes up with. There doesn't have to be a great explanation for their existence, just something, that's all I ask.

The Yokudans are not gone though. Redguard weaponry is sure to have lived on. I think the only excuse needed for new bladed weapon types is that people like to kill eachother in new and inventive ways. Many of the cultures combat styles and weaponry have yet to be fleshed out, especially those nations to the south.

We haven't seen many curved blades. I'm a fan of Western European style swords, but there is a distinct lack of Eastern European and Asian weapon types. Aside from the saber and katana, we should see scimitars, tulwars, kilijs, kopeshes.

The more the merrier has been said tons of times, and it will be said again. But the should do more damage, from what I noted in Oblivion for example, blade katanas were no where near glass or elven blades, so make katanas from the best material in Skyrim! (Ice?) joke :P

Katanas appear to be man made and they have no other special traits. I think they should have some contrasting traits with longswords. Longswords are better for the thrust and blocks, katanas for the cut and draw.

hopefully, this time, the different blades actually have different properties. In reality, players always go for the one with stats.
