Keeping the wife and kids happy

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 5:16 pm

I spent many hours and a lot of gold constructing my beautiful Lakeview Manor.

But when I moved the wife (Taarie) in, it was a disaster. I asked her how the kids were and she just ranted at me about wolves, bears and spiders, and asked me what I was thinking making them live out there. Kids seemed happy enough though.

So to keep the wife happy, I spent more hours and gold acquiring Proudspire Manor. Moved the family in. The wife is happier, though she still says she's seen bigger houses...The kids seem ok about it (though now they're going to grow up as spoilt city brats).

On another character, I was married to Lydia, and she loved Lakeview.

I'm now curious about how different spouses and kids react to different houses. Please share

Aela, Runa, and Samuel seem to love Lakeview.

Well, Taarie is a High Elf after all, so the attitude is understandable.

That's interesting, are you sure you talked to Aela and chose the dialogue that asks how the kids are doing? I think she's one of the spouses with "complainer" dialogue for most houses, unless there's some sort of hidden disposition system at work. I tried marrying her myself on a test file and after moving her to Lakeview, she made the "too many wolves, spiders, etc" comment.

It would be interesting to know which of the spouses will like which houses.

(Hey! I'm a poet and didn't know it!)

Jordis, Lucia and Sofie absolutely love Lakeview. Lydia wanted to become housecarl but I turned her down for a Dawngaurd follower. She seemed disappointed. I have other plans for her i.e. the Blades. She should just be happy I don't offer her to Boethiah.

Haven't married or adopted on my character who lives in Morthal.

Anyone know how Sena reacts to Lakeview? I can't test it yet since its not out for PC yet but I'd really not like to waste my time and money marrying her and moving out there for her to hate it.

How is the wife even happy? The kids have more to them than the wife from what I've seen. I'm hoping for a Patch or something! >8(

Marcurio, Blaise, and Lucia just love Heljarchen Hall. Marcurio loves the fresh air and the house is perfect, Lucia loves the snow, Blaise thinks it's great that I built it myself, though he's always cold. LOL Really, they say that....Too nice, so it's refreshing when I come home and the 2 kids are arguing and calling each other names! LOL

Since Marcurio is ultra sweet at home, I'm glad he's kinda snarky and got more personality on the road.
