Key Binding Bug Report

Post » Wed May 16, 2012 9:59 am

I bound one of my mouse buttons, the "M5" key, to "Ready/Sheath" and it works fine for taking out and putting away my weapons. Where the problem comes in is dropping items from inventory and crafting. First off, in my inventory it says that "R" is still used to drop even though I rebound the default "R" command to "M5". Second, neither "R" nor "M5" drop the selected item from inventory. To drop things I have to rebind my "Ready/Sheath" command back to "R". Crafting is the same way. It says on the crafting menu that "R" is to craft and neither "R" nor "M5" work for crafting so I have to rebind the command to "R" to craft.

Just a strange bug I found and thought I'd report it since using "R" instead of "M5" to ready my weapon is really annoying to me.

I would like to commend Bethesda on a job well done, because other than this minor bug, I am really enjoying Skyrim just as I've enjoyed Oblivion and Morrowind.

Thank you for your time ^_^

This also happens if you remap the "F" key to something else. By default it changes your view. I accidentally kept hitting "F" so i remapped it to "Z". The side effect is that F is also used to favorite things in certain menus. However now I have to press "Z" to favorite things. The menu still says I should press "F". When they fix this bug I really hope they make the menus retain the intial key bindings. What I mean by this is if I change the "change view" button from "F" to "Z" I hope when I'm in menus, "F" is still the button that will favorite things instead of "Z".

OH yeah I got a taste of this bug my self, now I cant favorite stuff at all, no matter what key I bind to the favorite function, and also how come there isn't a reset to factory settings button on the key config menu? every other game has that implemented just so you can go back to the default settings your game had prior to your changes...sigh they really need to release a 1.2 patch fixing a [censored] load of things.

And holly poop the censor system of this forum is a joke, they sure need to fix a pile of feces on the UI
