I'm having a problem with my cd key not working through steam. How long is the cd key supposed to be? Because mine is only 14 characters long.

the length of the key on the back of manual or contained in the email if bought through digital distribution will be correct, however if you are trying to register the EU version early then that is why it is failed to be accepted, EU owners of the game cannot register their game until Friday 7th October, hope this helps you.

i've also got a copy of RAGE with the 14 digit cd key, steam refuses to accept it.

I just managed to input my 14 digit cd key. ( North American retail version )

here's how i got it working:

1) From the steam client application running on your system, go to Library, then click on the 'Add Game...' button located in the bottom left corner - the Product Activation window will pop up.

2) click the 'next' button to get to the textbox where you enter the product activation code; enter your 14 digit code ( I included the hyphens ).

3) steam should pick up the key and activate your game.

I hope this helps anyone else having issues with their cd keys.
