Khajiit Wife (or Husband)

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 8:45 pm

I'm probably going to give one of those khajiit marriage nexus mods a shot. marry one out of the caravan. seems very lore fitting. I don't see my Khajiit wanting to marry a non Khajiit. May have to use an adoption mod for a Khajiit child if we don't get one.

No. She'd be able to have a child with an Altmer and offend them because the child would end up being a Khajiit since the mother was a Khajiit.
If the Altmer in question wasn't offended by marrying/sleeping with a Khajiit, then he can't possibly be offended by a cat child. Of course there are no marriable male Altmer in the game, so it's a moot point anyway

Definite, I tried with the options avaiable but it was just silly.
And the lore already goes shot for Kahjit players able to just wander into towns (and able to buy houses and become thanes.)
Slowly Bethesda heaps more and more reasons up for me why I am loosing interest with Elderscrolls, with Xbox the new cool kid on the block and limiting roleplay options in DLC costing good money.

Your player is the dragonborn, so no matter what race he/she is, those Nords will show respect and accept you. But Skyrim is no imperial city and for the few Khajiit there why would they want to start a family in such a cold inhospitable land where they are not even allowed in the towns. Yes being married to a dragonborn would get them in, but it seems to me no self respecting Khajiit would want to raise a family in Skyrim.

Still it would be nice if everyone was given the option of someone of their race/nationality to marry, no matter how improbable it would be. And any worthwhile voice actor can copy another's voice style, so I do not see why they cannot just get another voice actor to do new dialogue.

There are plenty of Khajiits in Skyrim.... they're just lying dead in some pit or trap.

Seriously though, the evil do-ers of Skyrim love picking on them.

Maybe the cold Skyrim weather chills the Khajiti's amorous feelings in such a way that marriage is out of the question? That being said, it would be nice to have a possible marriage partner of every race in Skyrim. It will probably happen in TES VI.

You are allowed to enter a city as Khajiit even before you are known as dragonborn just by saying you got a message to deliver (only after you killed the first dragon and svck his life force up you are seen as one, before that you are just an fugitive who escaped execution...)
So even as non Khajiit it is like "stop this city is closed" "I got a message!" "oooooh oh them you are allowed in"
I mean hey! If i had an scroll with official seal with me to show ok, but by just saying so you are allowed into an city with closed gates...
Bethesda is very lazy with such things.

And thats just Whiterun. Every other city lets you in as a Khajiit no questions asked. Before or after becoming the dragonborn. Well other then Riften cause no matter who you are, the guard tries to bribe you. You can of course enter through the docks and that won't trigger the bribe.

That's because Bethesda wanted to make what ever you choose to have the same possibilities as the other, if they made the game more by how it would happen, I'm sure every City would accuse you for being apart of a Caravan and shoo you away.

No one has any proof you're not apart of a Khajiit Caravan trying to sell stuff, and I doubt the guards would be gullible enough to believe you when you said you're not.

OT : I agree, we need marriage options for every gender of every race, out of 26 Khajiit NPC's in the game, not one of them could have been marriageable?

I agree, there needs to be Khajiit's, wood elves need to be added
as well and More Breton's, Argonian's and High Elves.

I refuse to marry my Khajiit Dovahkiin in the hope that there will be a future candidate. Plus I ran into a Khajiit living in the Solitude lighthouse. He's doing nothing. Just looking into to the fire being lonely. Apparently he love to have company, I'm sure he would be more than happy to have a wife. So there is no excuse why he couldn't work for my female Khajiit.

I forgot about that guy. poor fellow.

I tried some nexus mods that add marriable khajiit to the game. however most have no voice and those that do have scripted voices like Lydia and what not. kinda breaks the RP on both of those. Also they were old mods and none compatible with the UFO follower mod. :( Looks like my female Khajiit may have to remain alone... wandering Skyrim like some stray. :(

Agree 100%! I looked all over for a marriage-able Khajiit or Bosmer for my characters to marry, only to be sadly disappointed.
I gave up on this happening. It seems like they just don't want to do this. I'd like a third Khajiit follower, though, so there can be four Khajiits in the Blades, including my character.
Pretty much this. From what I've read, Bethesda claims that it basically violates their lore to do Bosmer and Khajiit options for marriage, stating that the races don't usually get married (which is something I haven't seen much reference to in the lore), which sounds like horse feathers to me considering that they do have married Wood Elves throughout the series, and the fact that I've never seen anything that specifically states that Khajiit do not marry.

It would be nice if they did add marriage options where none currently exist, but they don't seem to have any interest in doing that at all. They so far haven't even added any new Khajiit or Argonian NPCs in the DLC's with any new voicework, and I don't even know if they even bothered adding any new dialogue for Shahvee, Derkeethus, and Scouts-Many-Marshes that other spouse options got added in through Hearthfire. They seem to be mainly sticking with NPCs that can use generic cross-race voices.

DLCs are made to milk money from an existing game, not to add much content to it.
Compare how much content you buy with the game itself and how much content in playtime an DLC offers.
The game is the printer, the DLC the ink.

Can you perhaps lead me to a Link where they say that? I have yet to see it ._.
I'd have to slap them for that, because Marriage is what united Anequina and Pellitine into Elsweyr :verymad:

"When the two united in 309th year of the 2nd Era with the marriage of Keirgo of Anequina and E[censored]a of Pellitine, the two rulers fully recognized how historic their pact was, and renamed their land accordingly, to Elsweyr."

Edit : Esh-ita's name is censored ._.

Probably because they wouldn't get married in the temple of Mara. But neither would Argonians, so the argument is invalid.

Mara is one of the goddesses in the Khajiit Pantheon (The Mother Cat) and is still the Goddess of Passion and Love, I see no reason why a Khajiit would refrain from ever getting married in a Temple of Mara.

so the issue with marriage is Khajiit or argonian won't marry in the temple of Mara? well WHY do we need to get married in the temple anyway? The customs of the race should decide how/where we get married.

Either way, I think the demand is here... I'm using a nexus mod that added a nice male character to the game that is marriable. my Khajiit is taking him on quests to get to know him better. With a two handed axe and full warchief heavy armor with brown bear cloak... he's a handsome fellow and a bad ass in battle lol.

I can't find it anywhere Bethesda stating that Marriage goes against Khajiit and Bosmer's culture, way too many people are saying that they both don't believe in the Nine-divines as the others do, but I keep looking at the lore and it says they both have members of the Nine-divines in their Pantheon >:|

Where is the source of Bethesda responding to this problem people have been having?

Who cares about getting married in the Temple of Mara? She could still act as a wife, it would just be unorthodox and maybe there could be a few lines like, "I wish we could get married, but all that matters is that we love eachother, right?"

pretty much yeah, but It would be nice to have it official :|
a Khajiiti marriage tradition probably involves lots of moon sugar and dancing in the moon light :o
but also, who said that Khajiit you married follows Elsweyr Tradition?
