Kids are cute (as long as theyre mine)

Post » Thu Aug 02, 2012 2:12 pm

My two year old, Lily, is jumping on the couch catching pretend butterflies, then giving them to me to hold. I find my children endlessly adorable, but dont feel the same way about other peoples kids.

How many of you have kids, and do you find other peoples kids cute, or just your own?

We have no kids; sometimes get a bit broody, but we're bad enough at looking after ourselves. Kids are sometimes nice, but I'm not sure I'd want them around all the time, at least not while I remember what I was like!

I love kids in general. I hate specific kids, but in general, I just love them. That's my wife and I are planning for 6, we're just kid people.

I love my daughters with ever fiber of my being.

I detest other people's children. My 6-year-old loves having her cousins come to stay the night. I'd rather freebase Drain-O than put up with them.

Children are not cute. Especially not the very little ones. They all behave the same way, like restless dogs or cats - able to understand a few commands but require quite some supervision. Absolutely nothing special about them.

I'm an uncle myself, for one such aforementioned cretin. Only met it a few times so I'm not attached.

I really can't stand kids, but they love me. So I play with them. Can be fun, but they always get moody and start crying.

Apparently, it's adorable when I play blanket monster with my nephew. The girls swoon at my child-playing abilities.

Hate 'em. Probably because I've been around annoying kids for my entire life.

I'm not fond of kids, but if I eventually get kids myself I'd love them of course. :hugs:

I wouldn't want more than 2 of them though. I'd go insane if I had more.

I don't really like kids. Not even my own cousins or anything, I feel really awkward. I've not really decided if I want kids of my own yet.

Maybe this is a little harsh. It's mostly one of them in particular, her second cousin. My sister's son is my little buddy and my brother-in-laws kids (6 & 7) are generally well behaved.

I love my son unconditionally, and love kids in general.

I love it when the very young -infants- are in their buggy, minding their business as they discover the world around them, notice me and give me this look of;

"Holy [censored]! What the hell are you?? I've heard of cabbage patch kids before, but you must be the water melon monster or something.."

..so I give them a smile, and they smile back.

I share the same feeling as the OP. My two year old daughter is the best and absolutely cute. But, I can't standard other kids.

I have decided I want no more then 2. If any. Kids go either way with me, and I hope I don't hate my kids

My youngest (almost 18 months) has earned herself the nickname of "Monster". :D She's a great kid, but she's bull-headed and curious about everything.

My oldest looks like my wife, and my youngest looks like me.

I don't have kids yet, I just started out on my career of choice so I want a few years to build a nest egg/ get my life in order, then kids. I do however have two 1+ year old nefews an they are frickin adorable. I love them so much and they are endlessly cute. Old Andy nailed the look down perfectly. Always surprised and happy. Makes me want one or four of my own.

I don't have kids and have never had any desire to have them (even as a future plan), but I think kids are cute. Obviously not all the time - sometimes they are outright disgusting. :P

They are impressive in their ability to produce interestingly noxious substances from both ends simultaneously.

At work I generally find that kids are alright, it's their parents that are total [censored]s, and to blame for pretty much any bad behaviour.

Depends on the child. I like most, but I dislike some if they're annoying brats. If they mean well, then I'm still nice to them, but if they're genuinely being bad and they know it, I'm not going to be nice to them. But even then, it's to train them for the future, to show them that they won't get what they want by misbehaving.

I'm good with kids in general, and if Iike other children so much, I'm sure I'll be ecstatic when I have my own. :)
