Killing a Frost Troll : V

Hello,
I am a lvl 10 and cannot get past the Frost Troll on the path to High Hrothgar. How can I kill this thing?

when i was in that situation I just kinda lured it back down the path and sprinted around and past it. if you just keep sprinting and dont look back you can get around it.

Kill it with fire, be sure you have plenty of restore health and restore magic potions. Those svckers are like level 20 and they regenerate health. DO NOT stop spamming the fire spell. It helps if you have upgraded one handed to hit with one hand and fire spell with the other.

If you follow the path you'll go by the woman sitting by the shrine, up a flight of stairs, and between some high rocks before bumping into the fellow.

However when you get to the top of those stairs you can instead go left and around the rocks, bypassing the troll completely.

Level up first? I don't understand why you're having so much trouble here, he really isn't that difficult. Just take a health potion or two every time he hits you and learn to sidestep a few of his hits. Your fire spell is kinda weak that early, but if you dual equip it and crank magic potions you can keep a steady stream on while sidestepping pretty well. Also, your shout is relatively effective for stunning him in desperation.

Use your Flames spell (or buy Fireball/Firebolt, if you've got some perks in Destruction. Too much mana-waste if you don't). I killed a frost troll at level 4 or 5 or something alike with that.
Or yeah, sprint past it.

fire will work best on it. I run around it and used battlecry making it flee down the mountain while I ran up it, though this will only work if you're a nord since the other races dont have battlecry.

I beat the heck out of him. Here's what you do. Open the console, click on the troll, and type kill. Victory my friend!

Seriously though, I'm shield spell, so it was easier for me. My strat was to hit him with fleeing enchanted arrows and switch to fire while he was fleeing. Wait for him to come at you, and when you know he's going to swing, jump back and Sprint away. The key to this creature, solo, is ranged attacks in my opinion. Any troll is going to be hard at lvl 10. I've fought 3 so far.

You could try sneak and archery sniping him.

On my way there, I went around him (level 7 or 8)

After I completed the quest and had all 3 words of unrelenting force I just went and dominated him with a full 3 word unrelenting force and my burning mace (level 10 now). The full 3 word unrelenting force knock him down, and he was at 30-35% before he even got up and didn't stand a chance.

use your fire spells, your shout(s), shield-bashing (if applicable), a companion, and fully charged attacks and you should kill him pretty fast.. I was only lvl 6 and killed him on regular difficulty in like 5 mins.. you should be fine...

Trolls don't like fire, but even dual-wielding fire spells and with a companion to help me, I was still getting killed. I finally just ran past him. That actually works.

Take him up the hill then use your shout to knock him down.. Fall damage works a treat

I had problems with trolls, too(even at level 20 and expert difficulty). My solution is to summon a flame atronach. It lures the beast away from you while you slash his back with everything you've got(especially fire is good).

I had killed frost trolls before him and they seemed much easier, I was lvl 18 when I first headed there with 55 or 56 range and even higher sneak using a drainspell bow and dwarf arrows and they honestly barely put a dent in him even with 3x sneak damage and 60 percent range boost + elven gloves 30 percent boost.
Im guessing he gets stronger depending on your lvl, basically all I did in the end was run away from him while casting flame, it worked fine just remember to run round any kinda obstacle you can to slow him down.

I snuck around the side of the mountain to his left after he killed me on my first attempt. I have since levelled up to 'badass' and I am gunna go back and give him what for!

I was level 5 when I first did this and I got my as s kicked every time until I got sick of it and jumped on a rock. From there I simply peppered about (literally) 50 arrows into him along with some fire spells and eventually he died.

I used dual fire spell till my magicka ran out then restored my magicka with potions and did it again then smacked it a few times with a mace and it died, I did have help from my follower, the lady on the path and the fus shout as well. I was only level four.

I couldnt dso [censored] all to him. So I sneaked by. Talos help my non sneak characters.
