Killing Mr House

Post » Sun Apr 10, 2011 11:58 am

We all know about the Antechamber thing in Mr House's Lucky 38 casino. Until last night, I thought if you just take him out of his stasis cocoon and choose the first 2 "kill" options; you will kill him. I tried that many times but none of the quest result was triggered. Last night I have to try killing him again so I can move on with "For the Republic Part 2". As usual nothing happened after I disconnected him, $#%@$! Obviously I was mad so I decided to shoot him, he actually bled. After he finally died of his gunshot wounds, the quest related messages finally showed up.

If I knew this trick, I would have gone down the "Wild Card: Change in Management" last week.

I killed Mr House two different ways.

First time shotgun to the chest. Unambiguous.

Second time I thought I would try to keep him alive so I selected "disinfect chamber" There is a warning about danger if the chamber is occupied, but I thought, no problem, he is not in the chamber, but he got electrocuted and died anyway and his head popped off. So killing House is easier than what your experience was.

The few different times I tried, this "Disinfect chamber" option never appeared.

I shot him in the head once, it crippled his head, but didn't kill him.

I figured leaving him out, disconnected from the computer, with a crippled head (we all know how annoying that can be) was a fate worse than death, so I left him that way ;)

Killing that SOB doesn't get old for me.

I like to get the platinum chip, upgrade the army under Caesar's Fort, return to House and he's excited (for him) because you upgraded his robots... then... I tell him he ain't gettin' the chip, run to his chamber, pop the hatch, and... well, we all know the rest.

I've got a save just especially for this.

It svcks that to get other achievements I need to actually work for him. That really svcks. But I'm an achievement [censored] so I've got to do it at some point.

You don't really have to kill him to get the quest results, do you? I chose the "I'll let you live, but you won't control anything option" and I got through fine. Seemed like a really dikeish thing to do, so I did it.
